"Arlen Faber" Premieres at Sundance

Lauren Graham’s upcoming movie Arlen Faber (previously The Dream of the Romans), premiered this week at the Sundance Film Festival. Lauren Graham did not fly to Utah for the premiere, likely held up with rehearsals for Guys and Dolls, but the movie has thus far received great reviews!

Arlen Faber is a comedy / romance about a reclusive author (Jeff Daniels as Arlen Faber) of the spiritual guide ‘Me and God.’ Even 20 years after publishing his one and only book, Arlen is sought after as the man with all the answers. Then his life collides with those of Elizabeth (Lauren Graham), a single mom raising her seven-year-old son, and Kris (Lou Taylor Pucci). Learn more about the movie here.

Dark Horizons gives an amazing review of the film, calling it “brilliant and deliciously quirky“, saying of Lauren Graham:

“One can’t speak highly enough of the sublime and intoxicating Lauren Graham, whose penchant for witty comedy was evident in Gilmore Girls but is far more defined here. She delivers her best big-screen performance, and looks luminous in the process.”

Cinema Blend gives the film a good review, calling it “a joy to watch“, and while a few other places like Defamer may call the movie a cliche, most reviews seem to be on the positive for the film. I hope it finds a distributor while at Sundance so that the movie makes it to theaters!
