ET has confirmed that a man claiming to be a freelance reporter was arrested today at noon at Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s Los Angeles gated home. Apparently the call to police was made by one of Brad’s employees, a housekeeper. Charges have not been formally laid against the man, Eric Mitchell, at this time and it will be the housekeeper’s choice. The home is in a gated community and the 25-year-old man was in the location illegally.
Stalkers! Seriously, everyone wants to know news, but there are limits as to how you’re supposed to get that news! That’s pretty scary – many celebrities deliberately choose gated communities and high security homes in order to maintain at least some privacy so it must be extremely unsettling for not only the Jolie-Pitt family but the rest of the neighbors as well when someone sneaks in like that.
I don’t think it’s all that big of a deal. Everyone seems to think too much of it. It comes with the job. Nothing was stolen and no harm was intended by the person trying to get the story. It’s what you get for being rich and famous no privacy.
They seem unstoppable. I wonder what it will take to make them stop. Some people think that not patronizing the tabs and tv celeb shows would discourage the paps but I’m not so sure anymore. It’s such a monster industry already, although I do wish something could be done against them legally.
Did you know about the rash of burglaries of celebrity homes in gated communities? Charlize Theron was one of them. Luckily no one was home. But it doesn’t seem that gated communities are as safe as they used to be.
I agree with everyone’s suggestions about the paps. Maybe if there were also laws & fines/jail time for staff, police, restaurants, shops etc. who rat out on celebs, the $100-200 the paps slip them wouldn’t be so appealing.
I feel for this celebrities, this papsharks have no regard whatsoever for anyone as long as they have their shots and cash in it. I think, the reason why there is no laws to protect them is because the some of the cops gets monetary compensation if they let the papsharks get away with anything. It’s just unfortunate that people like Julia Roberts, J Garner and the Pitt family are going through this when they just want to do regular things that regular people do, unlike some celebrities who actually call the papsharks to let them know where they’re at in order to get attention, like for example Tom Cruise. That’s just sad, very sad…
I know it sounds mean. But maybe now that other celebrities are being invaded as well, they will all speak up to fix to mess.
Most people think B&A are responsible for this cr*p, but these other incidences (J Garner, J Roberts) say otherwise.
It’s time for some high penalties and laws to protect….especiallly when children are involved.
I agree with all of the comments above. And what better example is what the paps are doing to Britney Spears. This is a very sick young women, that doesn’t know the difference between the family that is trying to help her and these leech paps that she has invited into her life and home. What a shame that there had to be so many police, etc. last night to get this women to the hospital. I have been reading fan magazines for 60 years and it is now a scary situation that the stars have to contend with. I like the pictures also, but hate seeing the BS they have to put up with.
JM – As much as I love pictures, I agree, the paps are insane with the way they GET those pictures sometimes. If you go to the X17 site, there’s a video from yesterday with Jennifer Garner and Violet Affleck at the farmers’ market. The cameras are right up at them constantly in the parking lot. Near the end, after she put Violet in her car seat, Jennifer was about to get in the front to drive and one of the paparazzi tried to slip his camera in the door to get a good shot of Violet INSIDE the car.
The caption for the video is along the lines of “Jennifer Garner Explodes on Paparazzi” but I thought she showed incredible restraint because all she actually did was get a bit angry (she was probably a lot more angry on the inside) and she didn’t even swear or scream – all she did was step right up to the guy and say, “What is your DEAL? Do you have to get so aggressive? I’m with a little kid!”
It really is disgusting. I also wish there was a law that cameras had to be a certain distance from celebrities, ESPECIALLY with kids involved, and that they’d have to use a zoom lens.
You really have to watch people very carefully now days.This world is not getting any better,it’s getting worse.I remember when you could leave your frontdoor open at night(locked of course),with NO problems at all.
I thought Brad and Angie had alot of security around their home.Someone must have slipped up.Glad no one was hurt.

MAYBE THIS MAN HAS FRIENDS INSIDE,WORKING IN ANY ODD JOBS. MY NIECE LIVE IN A GATED COMMUNITY, SHE NEVER LOCK HER DOORS,ONE DAY SHE CAME HOME SOMEONE ALREADY STOLE SOMETHING FROM HER. SO THIS MAN MUST HAVE SOME CONNECTION SOMEWHERE.BUT GOD WILL PROTECT THE JOLIE-PITT FAMILY. SO KEEP THEM IN YOUR PRAYERS LOVELY PEOPLE.

I feel bad that they have to deal with this kind of crap in their lives. I know they are public people, but they also deserve to have a private life!! (Not that I don’t love reading about them and seeing pictures.) It just scary that this man was even that close to their house. I really wish a law would be passed that the photogs/papparazi would have to use the cameras with the big scope on them and stay away from them all. Can you imagine trying to walk into a restaurant or anywhere having all those cameras flashing in your face? How could you even see to walk or drive? It’s just horrible how bad this has become for all celebrities.
I have the same question. How did he get pass the security gate? He must have a fake i.d. Scary. Remember, there was also a person who applied at a security company and particularly wanted to work and be assigned to work for Brad and Angie. You cannot trust anybody.
I do hope they press charges too. But the question is how did he get into a gated community??? They threatened E’ channel last time, then seem to let it go with a warning and fine. I hope they don’t do that this time!

I guess that photographer wanted to be the one to get the first picture of the Babybump.These people are truly out of control,I hope they press charges against him.With the speculation running rampant everyone just needs to take a deep breath,give them their privacy and just wait until they officially confirm the good NEWS.
That’s scary. I hope the Jolie-Pitt’s are not home when the intruder went to the house. Brad is sure will have more security systems installed in their property & around their house. So many sick people around. I hope, they press charges & let the guy learned his lesson. Let him go to jail. God always protect the Jolie-Pitt’s.
