Ashlee to pay tribute to the King of Pop?

Various news outlets have been reporting that Joe Simpson has been shopping around a new concept record of Ashlee Simpson doing Michael Jackson covers.

Is this truth or fiction?

If you guess fiction then you are right!

Ashlee Simpson’s publicist Rhett Usry tells Entertainment Weekly:

“The [rumors] are completely not true…Honestly I don’t know where they’re from. This completely fabricated story is very disrespectful to Michael Jackson at a time like this, regardless of whose name you’re putting it to. Furthermore, she’s in the middle of shooting Melrose Place.“

So there you have it.  It’s strange when rumors literally appear out of nowhere, isn’t it?  Where do they come from?

Many others have covered the King of Pop in the past, and while I think an entire album might be a cool idea, it is clearly not right time for it.
