Ashley Olsen Doesn’t Tip on Take-Out

Janet Charlton must have had a slow newsday–she’s making a big deal over a claim that Ashley Olsen doesn’t tip on takeout.

She writes:

Ashley Olsen “the healthier looking twin” might be a whiz at negotiating business deals but she has a thing or two to learn about tipping. It seems she has become a frequent customer at Terroni, the hot new restaurant on Beverly. Her favorite dish is the eggplant pasta. Ashley often picks up large takeout orders – over a hundred dollars worth – and, according to our source, she NEVER tips! Does this girl who carries $10,000 handbags think takeout means no tip? Even WE know better than that!

Most of the commenters on this post think Janet is whack. I only tip on takeout when I have random change or the person was super nice or friendly. I didn’t think it was required.

Why tip on takeout, they aren’t serving you just giving you the food minus the waiting.

this janet girl…she’s very demanding, isn’t she?

tipping is essential. waiters and waitresses get paid 2 dollars an hour. they rely on tips as an INCOME. by not tipping you are being VERY rude. They are at work, not volunteering. However, on a takeout order i do not think tipping is essential.

i never tip. sorry, i just don’t. i’m not rich, so i pay what i have to pay for the services i get. i think that is plain simple.

this is not the first case i read about celebrities not tipping. well, i’d surely NEVER tip her after being this rude.

I don’t think that tipping is necessary when getting take out, but that is just me. Now when you sit down to eat at a place and you are waited on someone while you are there, I think that they deserve a tip if they are good at getting you taken care of because from what I have been told, waiters and waitresses get most of their money from the tips that people leave them. They get like $2.00 and then some an hour in my area of East Tennessee.

God bless you and them and Ashley and Mary-Kate always!!!
