It’s here! It’s here! The Beautiful Life’s first three episodes are now available in full-length form on YouTube’s new TBL Channel and eventually all five episodes that were made before the show was canceled this fall will be available.
The Beautiful Life follows a group of young models sharing residence in New York City, including Mischa Barton, who starred as Sonja Stone. TBL chronicles their lives as they struggle to make it — or in some cases (such as Mischa’s character Sonja) make it back — to the top. Follow them as they learn about ambition, passion, friendship and love in a world that only “looks” beautiful.
Others on TBL included Sara Paxton, Corbin Bleu, Ashley Madekwe, Nico Tortorella, Benjamin Hollingsworth and Elle MacPherson.
TBL executive producer Ashton Kutcher and guest iJustine discussed the release of the show on the Internet:
“This is what happened. We put this show on TV. It went for two episodes. Nobody knew it was one and so the ratings on the TV wasn’t happening,” Kutcher said in the video. “I was like, listen, there is no way. If we put this thing on the web, more than a half million people will watch it.
“My feeling is I want this to be the first show ever that gets more viewers on the web than what it got on terrestrial television,” Kutcher continued.
Each episode will be brought to YouTube by HP (Hewlett Packard)’s new social commerce campaign hp.com/go/createchange.
Kutcher is encouraging TBL fans and others to make a video of their 2010 New Year’s resolution for “beautiful change” by creating a video response to one of the TBL episodes.
I’m excited that the three episodes are now available! But now I have to play catch up to remember what was going on, so I’m going to start from episode one again!
The show originally debuted in September as part of The CW’s fall line up on Wednesday, following The Next Top Model.
Another cool part about the release is that were many people who wanted to watch the show but the country they were living in had yet to offer the show. Now everyone (hopefully) can watch it!
