According to Acting Info, Disney will start production on a new Disney Channel Original Movie. The movie is based on the popular novel “Avalon High” by Meg Cabot.
Auditions will be held shortly and they are currently casting for all roles. For the roles available and a description of each, see Acting Info.
Here’s the plot description:
Elaine “Ellie” Harrison has just moved from Minnesota to Annapolis, Maryland while her parents take a year long sabbatical to continue their medieval studies in nearby DC. Her new high school, Avalon High, seems like a typical high school with the stereotypical students: Lance the jock, Jennifer the cheerleader, Marco, the bad boy/desperado, and Will, the senior class president, quarterback, and all around good guy. But not everyone at Avalon High is who they appear to be, not even Ellie herself.
Eventually, it becomes apparent that Avalon High is a situation where the ancient Arthurian legend is repeating itself. Will, Jennifer, Lance, Marco, and Mr. Morton all correspond to King Arthur, Queen Guinevere, Knight Lancelot, Mordred, and Merlin, respectively.

hi, i’m Emma Asay i’m 15 years old almost 16 i have long dark dark brown hair and golden brown eyes i have been in ifyac plays for a long time so i can act and sing i would love to play the part of Ellie. thanks and i LOVED the book!!!!
I am really excited to audition for the role of Ellie Harrison, I am 15 years old,5′9″, and I have natural medium length brown hair. I have been acting for 2 years, taking a drama class as well as a professional acting class. It is my passion and I hope to get the role.
Well, many teens obviously think they would be an amazing Ellie! There’s probally many teens who would be capable of playing this role; but remember only one person will play it. If you think your the perfect girl to play Ellie, so does many others! In fact i’m 5′9”, about 16 years old from, minnesota, been taking acting classes for 4 years, athletic and was in track for 3 years, brown hair, brown eyes. Basicaly I’m saying many girls would be perfect for this role, but it will be hard to get it, so take as many acting classes as possible and recieve more experience, a girl who has been in commercials and been acting all her life, yet is nothing like Ellie would probally get the role befor a girl who acts in school plays! So my advice is go out and get experience!
Hi I’m Frances I’m from England but I absalutely love the book! It’s addictive I have read it nearly 6 times now!!! I am 15 (16 in February) and have been acting for 9 years now. I have been in westend shows and also sometimes I am in shows for my local theatre. I have taken singing, dancing and Drama arts and would love the part of Ellie!
