Since so many of you had a positive reaction to Australian Idol’s Anthony Callea, I thought I would put up a couple videos to show his diversity on the show. Good stuff!

I’m so glad to see Anthony’s videos posted. I was looking through some this am trying to figure out which one’s would be the best.
Sure can’t beat “The Prayer” The man is SO talented! (And adorable. lol)
He is great! Very versatile.
My favorite male idols from all over that I’ve seen are.
Anthony Callea, Kalan Porter and of course Clay Aiken.
Wow! I can see why Australia is so proud of this guy. Beautiful!
Thanks Jeanne for putting these Video’s up. He really did blow us away during the series and beyond. Apart from The Prayer which is my No.1 Idol performance of all time, I find it really hard to chose which are my other favourite’s from the show (so I’ll just pick all of them
) but a couple of the standouts for me would be Back At One and Perfect Fan (that one bring’s me to tears, he’s singing it to his mom in the audience), The Reason was the performance that got him a spot in the Top 12 and from that time on I was totally hooked.
Since Idol finished 3 years ago he just keeps going from strength to strength.
There are so many amazing post Idol performances on Youtube as well.

Thank you so much, Jeanne for creating this site. Whenever I watch the clips of Anthony’s AI performances, I am always taken back to the nights he sang them. Such wonderful memories – Anthony is indeed a “star” of whom Australia can be extremely proud.
He is awesome. The versatility is just mind blowing! How can he sing all those different kinds of songs?

SuziQ (by the way, I love that screen name and that song, lol) – I picked these three because they are so different from each other. Everything he sings is incredible. I’ll put some more up soon. I loved “Glory of Love” because I cried my eyes out at that scene in the “Karate Kid”
Lea – I’m glad too! He is an amazing discovery and I wanted more North Americans to hear him!

After watching “The Prayer” (over and over lol) How did this guy come in 2nd? Mind you I have no idea who did win. Does anyone have any videos of the winner?
Hi Bev – Casey Donavon ended up beating Anthony in the final. She hasn’t really done much after Idol, but I thought she was brilliant on the show.

I guess same reason as Clay came 2nd on American Idol. In other words, who knows? lol

Thankyou so much for creating this site and promoting Anthony. Ive been hooked since he first auditioned in 2004 and followed his career closely over the past 3 years. He has an amazing voice and not just that he is a really lovely young man as well and gives so much to his fans.
“Glory of Love” was one of my favourites as well, but I also loved the night when he did “Fever & Route 66″, it just showed his versatility.
Hope you enjoy discovering more of what he’s done. There are over 300 clips on YouTube, some from his recent National Tour, so your in for a treat.

One that wasn’t recorded but Anthony sang on Valentines Day “Whatever I do I do it for You” is so incredably beautiful.
From his albums two of my favourites after “The Prayer” would be “Live for Love” (inspirering message) and “Per Sempre” (simply beautiful)
Anthony’s incredable vocals come straight from heaven and he keeps getting better and better.
He’s the master of every genre of music and as well as that he is a beautiful caring humble man.
We are so lucky and proud that he lives in Australia.

Thanks guys. I did watch the judge’s comment last week when I looked up Anthony. Boy they were amazed with him too. Didn’t they say they had given him that song to sing as a challenge and couldn’t believe how great he did it?
Bev, that particular week of Australian Idol, the contestants were able to choose their own song. Anthony has said that people told him to sing a “rockier” number but he went with his gut feeling and chose The Prayer – and boy, his gut feeling certainly paid off in spades!

Am I ever dumb *slaps forehead* I kept reading that Anthony was on GMA and I’ve looked and looked and watched for him. Only now did I figure out that GMA was “Good Morning Australia” and NOT “Good Morning America” lol lol
It’s great to see that people from overseas are getting to see just how brilliant our Anthony is. All of the videos on youtube are worth a look. You’ll be blown away.

I’ve been a fan of Anthony since his first Idol audition and it’s brilliant to see so many people getting introduced to him. Like others have mentioned every Idol performance of his is amazing, but my personal favourites (besides ‘The Prayer’ of course) are ‘Glory Of Love’ and ‘Back At One’…I would strongly recommend looking those up!

Your Anthony is AMAZING!! The first time I heard him was on idol stalker, what a wonderful talent.
Hmmmmm second, he came in second what a coincidence that the best talent from American Idol came in second also. I would say I can’t believe he came in second but I know how you must feel.
Thank you very much JuneBug for your wonderful comments regarding Anthony. We love him to bits here in Oz and to say we were devastated when he didn’t win Australian Idol is an understatement! So we know how you must feel about Clay not winning American Idol, and we can commiserate together!
The interesting thing is that both Anthony and Clay have done extremely well since their Idol days, testament to their awesome talent and hard work. Anthony has always said that it’s one thing to be the winner or runner-up but the hard work starts once Idol is over.
Youtube is a brilliant avenue for artists to showcase their talent to the world.

There are lots and lots of different clips up on YouTube, a really big variety. Other people have posted more but if you look under my name mairanya1 you can see him singing The Prayer just a couple of weeks ago and also in August. His voice just gets better and better. There’s also a clip of him singing from Rent, although he hadn’t started rehearsals with the cast at that time. I saw Rent last night – he was wonderful.
Thanks Jeanne, he is certainly someone special, I just love his voice its like pure velvet. Goosebumps aplenty what a performance, glad he seems to be doing so well since Idol.
Anthony Callea is certainly a very talented young man. His voice is superb and his versatility is to be congratulated.
