Divorce is hard on everyone. But Avril is keeping a really positive attitude, not only towards her future, but also towards her ex, Deryck. It must be really hard to let go of someone who’s watched you grow from a teenage pop diva into a full blown adult superstar, but Avril is not letting anything get in the way of her happiness.
In a personal note on her fan site, she said, “I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note.” Whoa. I would be hard-pressed to think of an ex that I could call “the most amazing person I know”. This just goes to show that their friendship was built to last, even if their marriage wasn’t.
