Avril Lavigne Drops Nettwerk Management

idphoto032216-avril-lavigne_bell_center6.jpgAvril Lavigne is cutting ties with her management company, Nettwerk Management.  The company, which is based in Vancouver, Canada also manages the Barenaked Ladies and Stereophonics.

It was Nettwerk CEO Terry McBride who “discovered” Avril back in the day after she sent him a VHS tape of her singing karaoke in her parents’ basement.  It wasn’t until after the release of “Let Go” that Avril started working with Nettwerk.  It was McBride who pushed for Avril’s videos to be featured on Youtube.com and who promoted her in Asian markets (resulting in her tours there).

Very interesting.  Why do you think Avril’s dropping a company that she’s been with since 2002?  Any theories?  Maybe it was just time to move on…

Whoa – that’s potentially a big loss for Nettwerk…she was a big success story for them. But you’re right, sometimes it’s just the right time to move on.

This is all to typical that an Artist blames their Manager for the lack of success of their WEAK!songs. Why blame yourself when you can blame your Manager. You can’t hold great songs back from being successful even if your Manager isn’t in your opinion doing the best job. The public determine what songs are number 1 period by radio request and CD purchases. I’ve also noticed that allot of Artist’s that drop their Managers that were with them in the beginning, end up with a dead career since it was their lack of strong songs in the first place as the reasong for their lacking popularity. But that’s just my opinion

or maybe, like most companies like this one, they got greedy over something and she didn’t want to put up with it anymore.
