After just three episodes, NBC has dropped the proverbial ax on new reality cooking competition show Chopping Block, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The network informed affiliates on Thursday that the reality show featuring chef Marco Pierre White will not return.
Chopping Block will be replaced on Wednesday nights with repeats of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. The repeats will be CI episodes previously aired on NBC – not the ones which have only aired on USA Network (those will make their debut on April 29, according to THR).
Chopping Block’s ratings made a modest debut with ratings falling with each episode. Sources tell THR that NBC will air the remaining episodes at some point. Somehow I doubt that.
Chopping Block had hopeful chefs/restauranteurs (teamed up as couples) compete to see how well they would do in their attempt to open a restaurant. Challenges included design and makeover of their space, planning a menu and generating publicity to ensure a good opening night, etc. In each episode, noted food critics were assigned to observe the chaos on opening night, with White returning with the reviews.
What do you think? Did they give the show a chance? Or was it time for the show to go?

I like the show and so does my mom. I think they didn’t give it a chance. We watch “American Idol” and on wednsdays, it takes up the time between 8 and Idol. I think NBC should give it AT LEAST to the end of the season because the people that like it want to see the end and if the ratings aren’t good enough, THEN end the show.
