Barbara Walters talked, on The View, this morning about the special, "What Is a Man, What Is a Woman? Journey of a Pregnant Man,” which airs on Friday (tomorrow night) on 20/20 at 10pm EST. She interviewed Thomas Beatie and his wife, who made headlines earlier this year, because Thomas was born a woman but became a man and, after his wife had a hysterectomy, he chose to carry their child since his female reproductive organs are still intact. Confused yet?
Naturally, the pregnancy raised a number of questions but, following the birth, I didn’t hear too much about it. Now, Barbara has announced that Thomas is pregnant again and the audience didn’t seem to know how to react. Elisabeth Hasselbeck seemed disturbed by it and was quick to point out how difficult it’s going to be to have babies that are barely more than a year apart (wow, people have babies this way all the time and manage to survive…).
