I was truly interested to see what it was like behind-the-scenes of the shoot for the “Beautiful Liar” video. The duet between Beyoncé and Shakira (two one-named divas) was unexpected but well received around the world. I didn’t think it was going to work and, despite it not being my favorite song, I thought it was pretty good. The video was… interesting but a lot of people found it pretty sexy. I thought it looked a little cheesy at times because it almost seemed like the director really wanted to capitalize on the fact that he could make them look “alike.” Oh well…
I thought Shakira was intimidated by Bey. If you look at how she was dancing without the choreographed moves, she seemed to be uncomfortable. Whereas Bey was in her natural state of just moving about. I thought they made Shakira look very beautiful, b/c to me she always look a mess, never polished.
I enjoyed the video though especially when they dance side by side.
Well trying to make them look alike wasn’t hard because they do look alot alike, but that was the concept that Bey and her people had come up with and I thought it went well. My 18 month old niece LOVES her some Beyonce and she would get down when this and Get Me Bodied came on–well any Bey song actually! LOL

The floor move was removed & I wonder why. I thought the video was cute. I think they planned to make them look alike. I love Anthony Mandler – he’s the one who did Crazy in love & change how videos were made. Now everyone is trying to use him in their videos but I noticed that he stop making their videos similar to beyonces. I think that’s why she stopped using him after Naughty girl.
