Ashley Madekwe, a member of the cast of The Beautiful Life, has been giving little details and clearing up rumors about the show (which also stars Mischa Barton) on her blog she calls “Ring My Bell.”
In the photo above, Mischa and Ashley are filming scenes for The Beautiful Life in early August. This is what Ashley had to say about that day of filming on her blog.
“I am in costume and makeup heaven on this show. For this scene we were doing a Cinderella themed photo shoot for a faux Versace campaign and so we of course were decked out in Versace. Mischa is Cinderella and me and Sara play wicked step sisters. Mischa and I play rivals and we get to say the most hilariously bitchy things to each other. Think ‘Dynasty’ but with a better wardrobe,” Ashley writes on her blog.
In a newer blog post, Ashley tackles some of the rumors surrounding The Beautiful Life. One of the big ones for her is that the show is an ensemble cast so there’s not one big “star.” She says the ensemble cast includes Sara Paxton, Mischa Barton, Ben Hollingsworth, Nico Tortorella, Corbin Bleu, Elle MacPherson and herself, along with recurring roles and guest stars.
She also says Adam Bertrand is not a part of the show. According to her, the main cast were staying in the same hotel and hung out together and he wasn’t part of that.
Ashley also says things have changed since the pilot “names of characters, some characters level of involvement, my hair! A pilot is not the finished deal people so be patinet and all will be revealed when the show airs on Sept. 16!!!!”
As far as hearing that there are several “models trying to act,” that they are all professional actors (besides Elle MacPherson, who does have a little acting experience).
Ashley also says no one has been told to lose weight, I guess referring to the rumors about Mischa. She also touches upon the “naked” publicity shots.
“There are no other naked shots to be released. Not every member of cast was available for every photo shoot because like I said before we are working professionals and had other commitments. Just because you don’t see a picture of someone it doesn’t mean they’re no longer on the show,” Ashley wrote on her blog.
