Being a Kid in the Biz Takes Commitment

If you stop and think about some of the biggest movies and television shows today, a lot of them contain kids as the main cast. For example, “New Moon”, “Harry Potter”, “Hannah Montana” and so on.

Variety has a great article about the commitment and demand that can put on a young person. How do they find balance and do the adults in charge respect the fact that they are just kids?

Disney Channel Worldwide entertainment president Gary Marsh said, "Balance is the answer to success everywhere. On an adult series, a young actor will be surrounded by adults. The circle of people around these kids on our series during their workday is their friends. On Disney Channel, the set is their playground."

Do the stars of hit shows on the Disney Channel feel they are able to still be kids. According to Miley Cyrus, yes. She said, "Here, you get to act like you’re just a normal kid. We’re all just kids going through the same stuff, and we can be in it together. We all have fun. You get to do stuff that you’d never get to do on a normal day."
