Benji Madden & Sophie Monk are engaged. I know Hilary Duff and Benji are still good buds, so I am sure she is super happy for him!
Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden and Australian actress Sophie Monk are engaged, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.
"Benji proposed to Sophie in Australia on Christmas Eve," says Monk’s publicist, Kacey Spies. "They are very excited and enjoying this time with family and friends."
Madden gave Monk a Neil Lane platinum diamond ring.
In September, Madden and Monk, both 27, were spotted kissing over lunch at L.A.’s Newsroom Café. That night, they stepped out again for dinner at The Ivy.

Maila i agree…there is something that is not right with Benji and his brother at the moment…Joel is dating Nicole, and benji engaged? I expected something else of these boys, and for them not to do stupid things. I also think it is a publicity stunt…if one twin gets attention, the other twin has to have it too! If one don’t get the attention…they get jealous. So…its dumb.

Joel is only dating Nicole to keep his mind off Hilary…she kept Joel clean and inline….now his gone off the rails again!He loved her…he definatly doesn’t love Nicole…he doesn’t look at her the way he use to look at Hilary. Nicole is only his rebound gf. i hope Hilary realises tah tand they get back together they were truely in love! I agree with may.madden. Joel has had bad relationships in the past, and i think he is underestimating Nicole. She can never keep a guy, and just like with Hilary, he’s going to be hurt. But all of us Good Charlotte/Hilary Duff fans will be there for him right?
Also, on X17online.com it shows Sophie walking down the stairs with Nicole. How long have they known each other? Maybe Sophie helped Joel and Nicole hook up.

Why are you saying its a publicity stunt? The new CD doesn’t come out for another 2 months and 11 days. They won’t get married by then! I i hope they last. I watched the movie Click last night (the adam sandler movie) and i saw Sophie, and i was like thats Benji’s fiance! lol, i just thought it was funny cause we were talking about it just a few minutes before we saw the movie, and my mom was like “What movies has she been in?” It was funny.

I got ya 3 (maila, DCMA Queen, and May. Madden) Joel did have bad relationships in the past…and well if he don’t want to end up in another bad one…why is he dating that skank Nicole? seriously…he can do better…at least be single and get over the fact that Hil dumped him, and then later they can get back together! Why don’t, joel, for once just dump Nicole, and wait for Hil? I loved them being together, and they were one of my favorite couple of all of Holly wood!
And yeah…Maila you are right…if one has to have the spot light…the other has to have it.
As much as i hate to say…but Nicole doesn’t deserve Joel, and Joel don’t deserve someone like her! And btw, did you know…that you can’t just have LOVE to get married…there has to be other things! Its not all LOVE. People should know that. Its common sense!

Danny Bonaduce and Gretchen (awful name, and I apologize if that offends anyone)met and got married, all withen 7 hours. They are still married, and yes, they are having problems, but they are fixing them. So four months isn’t that bad. Maybe they both know they are right for each other, and I’m not going to argure with that.
Maybe Benji and Sophie wre dating before we found out, maybe it was a long distance thing. We don’t know for sure how long they’ve been together, we just know it was apperent to us four months ago.
Yeah we all know that, but within four months time…you can’t just find out someone is right for you! Seriously…get real!

i just wanna say that hilary’s album is coming out in around april and I think it could be called With Love or Play with fire but mostly With love cause she has a song calleed that and a perfume! plus
well i sure hope to see hilrys new CD coming out here soon, she will be very busy when it comes to that time around relasing it. When she makes a new between the two im sure we will all know a head of time.
And i am excited for her new prefume. I want to try it out! It probably smells really good. I haven’t gotten around to looking at the perfumes yet at the stores…but i will here soon, and maybe buy one of Hilary’s!

I saw Date Movie and Click, and I think she is beautiful! I’m proud of Benji. I hope they last a long time. Benji deserves someone like that. Him and Joel have had a rough life. But at least they aren’t alone. Thats why I can’t completely hate Nicole. Yes, Joel could do better, and he will, but we all know Nicole is just a rebound girl.
But in Us Weekly, which I’m reading right now, says
“Nicole & Joel Say ‘I Love You’”
