Valerie Bertinelli has signed on to star in an untitled TBS sitcom pilot, playing a single mother of two, according to Variety.
The One Day at Time star will play a woman who struggles to care for her children and a lumber business after her husband walks out on her (for another woman I presume?).
In other pilot news, Variety is reporting that ABC is working on an updated Witches of Eastwick supernatural series penned by Dawson Creek writer Maggie Friedman.
The series would be a small-screen variation of the 1987 movie that starred Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer.
And I don’t really like the name of this show, but ABC also is planning a Supernanny spinoff called Supermanny, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Instead of Supernanny’s Jo Frost, Supermanny would feature Chicago child therapist Mike Ruggles, who would give families a man’s perspective on child rearing.
Of these three pilots I am most excited about Bertinelli’s show and hope to hear more details in the near future.
