After Kanye West hurtfully stole Taylor Swift’s moment when she won for “Best Female Video” she left the stage in tears but rebounded with an incredible performance of “You Belong With Me.” I was so proud of her courage and, in the end, she got to finish her acceptance speech.
When Beyoncé later won for “Video of the Year” she said that when she was nominated for a Video Music Award with Destiny’s Child when she was 17, she was really excited and felt that Taylor Swift should have her moment. She called the younger singer back on to the stage and let her have her moment and I swear it brought tears to my eyes. Very classy!
