With the end of another year upon us, it’s time for the “best of” and “top” lists to make the rounds, and Billboard has released their findings for the top country hits of 2009 for us.

Leading pretty much all the charts, unsurprisingly, is Taylor Swift, who, as I mentioned yesterday, has had a phenomenal year. Her sophomore album Fearless not only debuted at #1 on the charts, but has so far gone quintuple-platinum, and is still sitting at #1! It debuted in November 2008 and was the first album to sell one million copies in 2009. It also managed to take the #4 spot on Billboard’s Top 200.
The remaining top spots on the country chart belong to Carrie Underwood at #2 with Play On, Lady Antebellum’s Lady Antebellum at #3, Tim McGraw’s Southern Voice at #4, and Zac Brown Band at #5 with The Foundation.
Top country singles include: Consider Me Gone by Reba; Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now; Luke Bryan’s Do I; Dierks Bentley’s I Wanna Make You Close Your Eyes and Tim McGraw’s Southern Voice.
