Billy Ray chats about his hopes for Miley…
Being part of the Hollywood crowd these days has made it harder for young celebrities to resist being blinded by their fame, but Miley’s father, country artist Billy Ray Cyrus, is hoping the values he and his wife have instilled in their family will be enough to keep Miley on the right path.
“I worry every day,” Cyrus told CMT.com. “Luckily, we go back to our roots. We’re a faith-based family. We’ve always tried to live for the light. I’m the last guy to cast a stone at anybody. I’ve made as many mistakes or more than any of those kids have made out there. But I tried to learn from my mistakes, so I’m hoping that Miley can look at my life and some of the other things around here and just learn so she doesn’t have to make those mistakes.”
Cyrus also said that Miley, who was only 12 when she was cast in Hannah Montana, has a “good head on her shoulders and a good heart.”
“We pray every day that she’s going to make good decisions. Then we pray every day that I’m gonna make a couple of good decisions, too. She’s probably worried more about me than I am about her,” Billy Ray Cyrus said.
