O ow, Blake Lewis is sounding off against the radio and DJ’s. In his recent Myspace blog, he described his current radio promotion gigs as “darkness”. Here’s an excerpt from Blake Lewis Myspace blog :
Then Darkness. So I had been doin the whole radio promo tours and let me tell ya. I’ve never really been a fan of the radio, but always wanted to be a radio DJ. “Strange?” You say. Trying to get them to play my jam has been so grueling. Don’t get me wrong, I loved being apart of American Idol and all, but if I have to talk to one more DJ that doesn’t really care about my music and wants to know what Simon Cowell or Sanjaya is like, I’m gonna poo my pants. What happened to DJs playing music that provokes emotion? or even music they like. I’ve talked to most of them and they just do what the next do. There is hope I feel. Still some magic is running through the air. A couple amazing singer/songwriters and producers are fighting there way through the waves, hoping to see the shore…, as am I.
Understandable I guess. In a way. I’d be pissed off too if another person asks me about Sanjaya. Having said that, I really don’t think it’s a good idea for him to antagonize the Radio media. Know what I mean. They’re still one of the big forces in making an artist part of the mainstream. You piss them of and you might not like the result. Just saying. But it’s still good for him to speak up like that. It keeps his cred’ Yo!
