Blake Lively, Penn Badgley discuss Gossip Girl, spin-off

Hollyscoop.com caught up with Penn Badgley and Blake Lively on Super Bowl Weekend to talk Gossip Girl and the Gossip Girl spin-off.

Blake explains that the second to last episode of the second season will also double as the pilot to the Gossip Girl spin-off, which focuses on a young Lily. She says the episode will do a lot of flashbacks — mixing the current show with the past.

When asked about Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg), Blake says she doesn’t know until she gets the script the night before — but knows she is coming back.

Penn Badgley says dealing with media attention comes with the job and is generally 5 percent negative and 95 percent positive. He also describes his character as the “moral center” of the show, but likes it when Dan messes up.
