For the most part, the girls don’t care Maddy is gone! On to this week’s lesson. The girls learn all about staging a fight and get to punch each other, pull each other’s hair and smash bottles on each other’s head. It’s really fun and you can certainly tell who doesn’t like who!
I cannot figure out why everyone hates Viola. It’s completely possible she’s super annoying, but the editors aren’t showing enough of Viola’s annoyingness to make the other girls’ comments believable. Instead, all we get is bitching, bitching and more bitching and I can’t help but wonder if Viola is simply misunderstood or if there is a language barrier there.
This week’s challenge is huge – shooting a campaign for Faith Shoes. The best two photos will be chosen for a national campaign! The Faith Shoes rep was really concerned about Jade’s weight, but disliked nearly everyone. Or so it seems. Ashley and Sophie are declared the winners. Great, now Sophie’s head is going to get even bigger.
The photo shoot is a beautiful underwater shot with Debbie Gething gowns and a hat by Louis. It’s really difficult and I don;t understand why their isn’t an assistant right there with scuba gear so the girls can grab some air that way. Going up and down and up and down wastes a lot of time. I’m excited to see the photos, only because if you remember the underwater shoot in Cycle 2 of ANTM, nearly every photo was awful. Has there really been that few underwater shoots in the history of NTMs?
There’s lots more drama surrounding Viola and it sounds a lot greater than it looks. Let’s move on to elimination, where Huggy’s comments are hilarious and most of the photos are bad. Underwater is so difficult, so when the judges love Viola and Jade it’s a nice surprise. Jade gets the first call out, solidifying her position as the front runner. Daisy and Helyer end up in the bottom two but Daisy’s strong performance last week saves her. Bye Hayley! I’ll miss you.
