"Bootlicious" Remix Feat. Missy Elliot - Video

Prepare yourselves before you watch this video – there’s bad hair, bad make-up, bad use of contact lenses, bad lyrics, bad moves and horrible graffiti.  BeyoncĂ© is barely recognizable!  Still, the song isn’t so bad as a remix, especially when you consider it’s from 2001 when Missy Elliot re-emerged on the scene after having lost a ton of weight and released “Work It.”

I prefer the original but it’s worth a listen:

I think you’re being a little too harsh Jeanne. Bad hair and makeup I can give you. Bad lyrics? Bey was awfully young (19) when she wrote this, so how “good” did you expect the lyrics to be? I liked the graffitti. And the dancing was just them being them and having fun, so how is that bad? I loved the remix better than the original and the video concept was supposed to be hood–which we ALL know was Jay’s influence since they started dating around the time of this video. I thought the video was funny and kinda cute.

    I love Beyonce’.We have the same b’day

Wow, I did not like that video, lol.

    @queen dee

I don’t see how Jeanne is being too “harsh”. Most of her posts, if not all, on this website is built around praising and uplifting Beyonce (which I personally find a bit scary…lol). But it seems as soon as someone says one little thing about beyonce, no matter how nice or sincere they were trying to be, people flip out. If you like the video, graffitti, her clothes, makeup, lyrics, shape, style, movement, the air she breathes; then that’s you! But don’t get on anybody else because they spot a little imperfection in your very own Ms. Beyonce. Let’s not forget, she is a human being; unlike most of you who makes her out to be a god, or android, at least.

And know we don’t ALL know that Jay-Z was the influence behind the “bootylicious” remix. I actually thought that was DC’s idea considering that they were young and flamboyant during that time of their career. And there’s nothing wrong with that…!

    @ Absurd…
Please don’t address me as if you know me, because you don’t. I don’t care if people down Beyonce, because she’s in the spotlight and that comes with the territory. And to call her my “very own Beyonce” or to say I “flipped out” over what was said isn’t accurate because I’m not that much of a fan nor do I know her peronsally. And don’t get me started on you implying I treated her as a god. No one gets my worship but Jesus Christ. I like Jeanne and her site I just didn’t think it was as bad as she was saying and that is what I said–I thought the video and everything in it went with the song. If you bothered to UNDERSTAND what I said instead of JUST READING IT, you would have gotten that. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion; she had hers and I had mine. As far as the Jay-Z thing goes, being “flamboyant” as you so put it was not their thing which is why the video was so talked about. Bey isn’t from the hood, but when she got with Jay, his hood mentality rubbed off on her the same as her elegance and sophistication rubbed off on him. That happens in relationships.

Just for clarification – my comments about the lyrics pertain to THIS VERSION of the song. I like “Bootylicious.” Heck, the word has been added to the dictionary.

I hate the stuff Missy has added. If that’s harsh, I’m cool with that but it’s my opinion.

QD – don’t mind absurd – their new to the site. We ‘the regulars’ disagree w/ each other all the time, It’s always friendly fire. J – knows that.

    @ Jeanne
Girl, now you KNOW I usually agree with you and I was in NO WAY trying to disrespect you or your opinion. I understand what you meant now that you clarified what you meant about the lyrics. But, Missy was hot then, so what can you do? LOL!
    @ B4real…
Girl, I am not worried about that chick! But, I had to set her straight because you know how I do! LMAO!

  9. Absurd

B4Real, your comment was so unnecessary. This isn’t high school so responding to this post just to defend somebody you probably never seen or will never meet a day in your because they’re a “regular” is so childish.

I don’t care about being a “regular”, this is the World Wide Web. People come and go everyday, so please.

  10. Absurd

queen dee, I can appreciate your retaliation (without the support system), and I am God fearing woman (not a chic), too. You are right about everybody having their own opinions which is something that people have a hard time grasping over the internet these days, but oh well. I don’t want to sound contradictive either so let me state that I do respect your opinion in response to Jeanne and this post, but I thought that you sounded a little far-fetched when you stated that the webmaster was being “harsh” when describing DC’s performance in the bootylicoius video. But it’s whatever now. Sorry, if I came at you a bogus, too. Have a good one.

  11. queen dee

    You’re cool. Apology accepted.

  12. B4real

@Absurd – I usually don’t do the tit for tat, but there is nothing unnecessary about my comments. As a “regular” I am familiar w/ the “regulars”, Like i said. So we “regulars” know the context and meaning of our blogs, so we rarely ever read it out of context. As such, we agree to disagree, we respect each other opinions, and so forth and so on.

Of course you are welcomed to visit any site you so choose, & I can comment on whatever blog I choose to comment about. That’s all I have to say about that!

As far as me meeting w/ any of the bloggers on this site, I don’t think that would be a concern of yours.

  13. B4real

QD – did you see the clip of Bey running through LAX airport? She looks lean, toned, and beautiful. ET is posting a clip on their website. Check it out

I thought the video was young, cute and just adorable and destiny’s child are always amazing when their seen together! I really liked the way that each of them had a look alike in a little girl’s form , very creative!
