The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) have released their nominations and once again, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are up for several notable BAFTA awards.
Brad is nominated for best actor for his role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and again, Angelina Jolie is up for best actress for Changeling. (As a side note, I found it interesting that Kate Winslet is nominated for best actress for BOTH The Reader and Revolutionary Road – that doesn’t happen very often!)
Meanwhile both Clint Eastwood and David Fincher are gunning for best director for Changeling and Benjamin Button respectively.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is up for a total of 11 different awards, so hopefully it will be able to win something despite being pitted (hee, no pun intended!) against Slumdog Millionaire again. Brad Pitt is also nominated for best supporting actor for his role in Burn After Reading, which is great!
Once again, I am hoping that Brad and Angelina will see some wins for their movies at the BAFTA awards, but even if they don’t I’m so proud of them for getting nominated – nominations are already a great recognition of their work. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for both of them though!

The 2009 BAFTA Awards take place on Sunday, February 8th, and they’ll be held in London, England at the Royal Opera House. I’m not sure if Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will attend the BAFTA Awards, it will depend on their schedules, but hopefully we’ll be seeing them on the red carpet soon!

While reading Paris Hilton’s interview about wishing Angelina to be her best friend, at first I had mixed reactions. I didn’t know if she’s serious or what. Considering her negative reputation & the superficial/ shallow image she projects in public, my initial reaction was, “she didn’t know what she’s talking about….Only in her dreams…..She’s just kidding or using her just to be in the news…. I don’t believe anything she says…”
On the other hand, I could sense PH really wanted to change her life & to look up to someone who can be a good role model to her. I felt she needed to surround herself with people who can bring positive influence to her life & help her become a better person. She knows AJ was able to turn her life around successfully from her wild, experimental & adventurous life to what she is today, to what she has become – a respected actress & great humanitarian. She knows AJ is able to balance her life, that of being a popular celebrity as well as a family woman & activist.
AJ’s past destructive ways is what I think PH is referring to, what she has in common with her. She’s making her an inspiration to find life’s purpose, that if AJ could do it, why can’t she? Of course she can but she has to realize it has to begin with her own self. She has to distinguish what is trivial & significant in life. Sure, inspiration & admiration is nice but in order for others to help her & to give positive influence in her life, she has to help herself first. She has to set her priorities. Find her sense of purpose & the sense to be useful.
PH is very consistent in expressing her admiration for AJ. She has made statements before, saying how much she admires AJ. PH & other celebrities such as Drew Barrymore, Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, Anne Hathaway, etc. are inspired by AJ’s unprecedented change. It’s actually a compliment for her. Interestingly, AJ found the drive to better her life when she witnessed firsthand the difficulties suffered by refugees & other unfortunate people she has spent time with during her travels. It changed her opinion on everything—on life, her values & especially her own sense of self. For AJ, she can’t complain with her own problems anymore as there are many people who have much bigger concerns, yet these people taught her courage, survival, friendship & love.
So, with that being said, PH can discover herself how to improve her life & start by asking, “WHAT DO I REALLY WANT IN LIFE?”
Has Angie decided to home school? I think I read somewhere that that was her intention,and we have not seen any pictures of the kids going to school(of that I am glad).
Paris Hilton should take note that Angie is a role model to all. Paris should change her lifestyle first. God bless .
i think i saw one episode of Tyra show where Paris was asked who’s celebrity she would want to be friends with and she said Angelina Jolie and Tyra was like, “yeah, me too, I think everybody wants to be her friend.”
Isn’t it weird to hear how other celebrities who would want to be her friend? :)
Poor Paris, in my opinion the only thing Paris has in common with Angelina is that sometimes Angelina resides in Hollywood. Paris and others like her should use Angelina as a role model. You can have your crazy years but then at some point you grow up. Angelina’s role model was her Mom and more and more Angie is shaping her life like her Mom’s.
brad (and maybe angelina) is/are going to the CCOBB premiere on monday 19th jan in berlin, germany, so i don’t think brad and angie will have enough time to get to the obama thing on tuesday 20th!

Angelina Jolie’s beauty still leaves Brad Pitt breathless from time to time. At least that’s what he told E! News’ Giuliana Rancic last night.

i hope brad and angie and the rest of the family are enjoying their time away from the spotlight :). as much as i want to see pics of them out and about, i’m glad that they’re able to have their privacy…it’s been such a busy year for them – they deserve it! i also hope they continue to distance themselves away from hollyWEIRD. i’ve been reading about all the dirt and double lifestyles a lot of the celebs get caught up in…i really don’t want their beautiful family to get in that mix too (i’m sure brad and angie have their skeletons too, but they seem to be past all that now).

Off topic…just received my subscribed copy of W mag with Brad on the cover. The pics are shockingly revealing with every nook, cranny and wrinkle and even more stark because the pictures are so huge. What I find so great is Brad is showing how much he’s embracing aging, his self-confidence is so obvious and so real. What you see is what you get! I think this spread was also influenced by his BButton character. For a man with a pretty boy image, I applaud him for showing the world how down to earth he is.
Congratulations Brad and Angie. I’m confident one or both will win this time.
Mary Ann, we’re used to the press saying Angie is depressed. The couple only come out during award shows and film premieres and then they settle for a quiet life. When the paps don’t see them, they come up with the worse case scenarios— oh! Angie is depressed or Brad has left her and the kids etc, their fans are used to their trash. When they’re come out they are criticised for it and when they disappear for a while the paps become desperate to see them again and they make up all sorts of stories why no one has seen them together. They can’t win either way. Just don’t read too much into tabloid stories, they all lie and make up stories about the couple all the time. When they show up you can judge for yourself based on their body language and what you see. Angie is very expressive and doesn’t lie. Amongst all the actors and actresses in Hw she is the only one who is more open and honest about her life.
Wish them well with the awards and looking forward to seeing them again. I have enjoyed seeing them the last couple of days.

You know what, IMO, the best quote during GG’09 is Angie’s “Oh, that’s my business, man!!!”. The timing was just impeccable. The delivery was WOW!!! We were all surprised. That’s why I always think Angie is a good comedian in her own very special, unigue way!!!
I really find this very, very smart but very, very funny. Everytime i watch the vid or read about it, I can’t help but laugh in stitches!!! Sure, the kisses made my day too, but this one is very unexpected. I mean, Brad was somewhat very uncomfortable when he was asked,”Brief or Boxers?”, and here comes her lady to rescue him from embarrassment with that now famous line. Really, IT WAS JUST AWESOME!!!

Stellabellaroma – Relax. :) BT isn’t being rude, she’s talking about the people who have nothing better to do besides hop from one blog to another spouting hateful comments. You don’t usually see them here, I have always made it clear that this is a fan site and positive site, but every once in awhile they slip through before I notice. These aren’t people with a difference of opinion, they’re the type of people who have nothing but incredibly nasty and negative things to say.
