Whew. Is anyone else as tired as I am after last night’s Oscar awards? I love watching them but just once in my life I’d love to see them actually wrap up by 11 pm for a change!

Here’s a quick round-up of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at the Oscars last night!
Over at Style Crunch are the fashion notes – as usual, Brad dressed in a Tom Ford tux (and looked really sexy if I may add!) and Angie’s strapless dress was by Elie Saab, a designer that she’s worn before.
The tabloids were ready to pounce with Jennifer Aniston presenting the animation award, and I’m sure they’ll find something to twist around, but as far as I was concerned, the whole thing was practically a non-event. Brad and Angie looked gorgeous, Jennifer looked gorgeous, she delivered her lines well (loved when she said they didn’t know why they had let Jack Black out of the house), she smiled at Brad and Angelina, and they were both laughing at the jokes. There was zero drama, I’m sure the triangle fans are disappointed.
Speaking of things for tabloids to jump on, People.com has a video clip up that will probably get people up in arms. In it, they asked Brad and Angelina what the six kids were doing at home while they were out on the red carpet. Brad replied, “Throwing spaghetti against the wall”.
How much do you want to bet that this will fuel outrage, with folks saying that the kids are out of control? Too bad not everyone recognizes Brad’s sense of humor and that he was probably joking or exaggerating that maybe some of the kids weren’t fond of their dinner that night.
And as we all predicted, even though neither won a major award (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button did win several technical awards, as I figured it would), the night for Brad and Angelina was more about having a good time than anything else – Angie said, “I like to think of it more as a date. We’re very comfortable tonight and just happy to be out and it’s a nice night.”
Keep reading, I have some video clips of Brad and Angelina at the Oscars below the cut!
On the red carpet – Angie definitely looked tired, but who wouldn’t be with her schedule lately?
I really enjoyed having prior winners come up to talk about each nominee, it was different and interesting. Here’s the presentation for Best Actress – Nicole Kidman introduces Angelina.
(Sorry for the poor quality, it was the only one I could find!)
And if I may, one of my favorite moments of the night was when Kate Winslet was giving her acceptance speech and didn’t know where her parents were sitting so she asked her father to whistle – and he did! It was like he was trying to hail a cab, it was so cute!
Along those same lines, here’s the Best Actor presentation, with Sir Anthony Hopkins introducing Brad Pitt – such nice words!
And of course, the much-talked-up animated film presentation – as I said, total non-event, drama-free.
Now let’s wait for the tabloids to turn it into something it wasn’t.

gena, how do you know the producer used the Angie and JA thing to get ratings? I mean, I highly doubt JA was forced to present! Oh, and to the people who have expressed concern, I’m sure Ligaya is fine. I’m guessing she’s probably just finally taking her sabbatical! :)

Oh, and Sunny, I could be wrong, but it sounds like you’re basically saying that JA DOESN’T have talant. Well, personally, I think she does! I recently saw Marley and Me, and I think she did a fantastic job in it (as did Owen!)!

joliepittfanatic,
“The Foolest Dog in The World ” is the title for Marly and Me. I saw the poster with the dog when I went to see Changeling. It will be released for spring school holidays in Japan. That means it is basically for kids and I will not see it. Most HW comedies are seen by young people.
Most adult people like HW romance or action or suspence rather than HW comedy(too silly).
About JA. I’m not interested in her.

Right now most talked about film in Japan is ‘The Departure’. It had been already critically and commercially big success in our country but now all media is putting it in the spotlight again after it got Oscar.
‘The Departure’ is about a man whose job is a funeral director. First I heard about this project
I reminded that job was the one teenager Angie
wanted to be.
The leading actor (Brad’s age) also produced it and it took 15 years to make. The movie has comedy touch but the story is about our life and death. That is how people lived their lives.
How we die is how we live while alive.
Angie has got that idea when she was very young. She sometimes says ” before I die I want to do this and that”
I want her see this movie.

hey jpfanatic:)
i want to see marley and me, but its not out yet:/
i only think that maybe Brad and Jen would have worked on their marriage more if Brad would not have fallen in love with Angie…..but thats just a feeling and totally regardless in the end:D and you´re right Brad and Jen said that Angie wasn´t the reason.
things are good like they´re now. so i´m gonna stop the Jentalk before someone is gonna rip my head off for talking so much about her….lol
thanks that you see my comments like they are and not in a negative light jpfanatic, its aways great “speaking” with you!

Cee, relax! Other PittWatchers have already explained it, but I will attempt to do so again:
Because Sherry mentioned JA in this post AND she’s relevent to this conversation, most of us feel like it’s okay to mention her in this instance.
In other posts where JA isn’t mentioned or revelant, most of us DO try not to mention her! :)

Now, showbiz tonight over at CNN is regurgitating the ugly print in the New York Post who “slammed” Brangelina and then proceeded to say THEY (Angie) was “smug”. This is what I mean on why I had hoped that pittwatch would be free of the Jen factor. Brad & Angelina were very gracious and this is how they get treated? They cannot win ( insert exasperated sigh) First it was the show down between them. When that didn’t happen; they claimed it was because “Jen was so brave”……Then, came the ultimate insult…”Angelina snubbed Seacrest again”. I don’t blame Angie for NOT talking to him, he asks the dumbest questions. Someone was going to TRY and bring up Jen and Angelina in the same room. But, the fact remains that it is STILL okay to slam Angie but NOT Jen. I find that SO unsettling. It makes ME not want to be a fan of JA at all. I believe Brad & Angie were the pinnacle of perfection at the oscar’s and to hear this makes me feel so bad for jolie-pitts.

kim, LOL! I think you mean Salt. :)
“another” Sherry, I hear you! “Someone was going to TRY and bring up Jen and Angelina in the same room.” That’s exactly what I was trying to say one of my previous posts.
I really think that may have been a huge part of the reason (or maybe even the entire reason) why Angie and Brad avoided being interviewed on the RC (well, Brad DID say a sentence or two to some of the interviewers, but I don’t call that an actual interview).
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think Brad and Angie have anything against JA or feel super uncomfortable talking about her (both of those things seemed very obvious in Brad’s W interview. Brad even said that Angie vs. JA is tabloid and media created.). However, they must get sick and tired of constantly being asked about JA and the “triangle” (after all, going by Brad’s W interview, it sounds like they have moved on and are more than ready to leave the past in the past!) all the time.
The RC is also not the place to be asking questions like that (remember, Angie and Brad even seemed a little uncomfortable at the Golden Globes when everyone kept trying to ask them about their kids and personal lives instead of their work).
All of that said, at least one PittWatcher said that, to her, it looked like Angie and Brad were rushing a bit because they arrived late compared to most of the other nominees.
Getting back to the tabs and other media, I wish they would stop making JA sound like a helpless, defenseless little kid. I mean, they make it sound like the prospect of bumping into Angie is something that scares her to death!
I highly doubt that’s the case. Yes, running into Angie and Brad would probably be awkward for JA (and vice-versa). I mean, when ISN’T running into your ex or (especially) your partner’s ex awkward (unless the exes parted on good terms and are still friends, that is)?
However, I doubt JA is actually scared of running into them! I also don’t like how they make Angie sound like some sort of tigress (no pun intended!) who’s just waiting to sink her claws into JA, so to speak. I mean, come on! That is NOT the type of person Angie is!
The other thing that really annoys me is how they act like Brad wasn’t there, that there wasn’t a prospect of JA running into him as well.

joliepittfanatic–thanks for “hearing” me and responding (I was starting to think nobody was talking to me anymore) =)
Anyway, so here I am, I sign on to my aol account and they have this a picture of Brad & Jen, with Jen saying she isn’t going to comment anymore because it will get turned around. My point is; don’t respond at all. It really bothers me because of the kids and also why EVEN say that?
THAT in itself causes controversy. Everyone says Brad & Angie talk about it but I just haven’t read that myself. I do know that Angie talk about falling in love with Brad on MMS but he explained that the movie took over a year to film and he had already left Jen when she was talking about “couldn’t wait to get to work”. To me it was much ado about nothing.

“another” Sherry, Angie discussed it in an interview with Vogue magazine in early 2007 (that was the interview in which she made her comments about how she “couldn’t wait to get to work”). Then there was her comment this past Fall about being excited for the kids to see MMS.
However, it later became pretty clear that, when Angie talked about her kids getting to see the movie where their parents fell in love, she was referring to her and Brad’s CHARACTERS falling in love in the MOVIE, rather than her and Brad’s personal ife.
As for Brad, he dicussed it in his interview with W Magazine that came out back in (I believe, anyway. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong!) Janaury (it was the February issue, though. Like most monthlies, W puts out each month’s issue at the end of the previous month).
They asked him about JA’s vogue comments (i.e., Angie being “very uncool”), and he responded by calling JA a “sweetheart”, saying he thought she got sucked into that one by the media, and confiriming that they DO still talk to each other occasionally. He also reitirated what most of us have been saying from the beginning: There was no “dastardly affair”, and that MMS took over a year to film.
IMO, JA was basically doing the same thing in Vogue that Brad did in W. She was asked about Angie’s 2007 Vogue comments and responded. Personally, if people are going to get upset and say that she shouldn’t respond to questions about Brad and Angie and the comments they make, then I think Angie and Brad should be held to the same standards (i.e., they shouldn’t respond to questions about JA or her comments either).
I actually was very happy to see JA’s comments about not commenting anymore because it will get turned around. Some of us (myself included) have speculated that, just like with many of Angie’s comments, JA’s Vogue and GQ (particularly the GQ comments) may have gotten taken out of context, and that appears to have been the case.
What I was most glad to see, however, was JA saying the same thing Brad basically said in W, that there is no feud or “bad blood” between her and Angie/Brad. I loved the way she worded it, too (that there is no heroine or villian in this “triangle”). As for why she said that, I think it was her way of saying to the media, “Please stop asking me about it, becase I’m not going to respond to those questions anymore!”
That is what so many of us have been trying to say these past four years, but the tabs have been painting the opposite picture. I’m very happy that we now have BOTH Brad and JA on record stating that there is absolutly NO “bad blood” or feud among them (Angie’s alluded to that as well, but she’s never been as direct as Brad and JA).
All of that said, however, I do see your point. When Brad and Angie DO discuss what happened back in 2005, they virtually always do so in the context of their feelings for each other (in otherwords, they leave JA out of it), and they rarely directly address the “triangle”.
Also, each one of them has directly mentioned JA only once, and neither one did so in a negative way. Angie did so in the Vogue interview in 2007, saying that she’s perfectly fine with talking with JA if JA wants to do so.
Brad mentioned JA directly in his W interview, when he said that, “Jen’s a sweetheart”.
