A lot of PittWatch readers have wished for it and it seems that it’s finally happening – Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s lawyer is taking legal action against News of the World for their false story about the couple’s so-called split.
Brad and Angelina’s lawyer Keith Schilling referred to the story as “false allegations about their relationship” and said, “We can confirm unequivocally … that the allegations published by the News of the World are false as well as intrusive.”
It’s been several weeks now since News of the World released their false story claiming that Brad and Angelina had met with a lawyer to begin a formal dissolve of their relationship, taking care of assets and custody issues.
Well News of the World, it looks like you’re part psychic because Brad and Angelina DID meet with a lawyer – except their legal meeting is all about suing you! Naturally the tabloid (slag rag as I like to say now) did not reply to calls from People magazine.
It’s embarrassing to purposely make a huge accusation like that, but I imagine it’s even worse when you get dragged into court for it too. This type of proceeding won’t stop all the tabloids from speculating but if this case goes through and Brad and Angelina successfully sue News of the World it might give other tabloids pause for a little while!
Normally I’m not one to shout “sue!” but in this case I’m happy to see that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are taking legal action because sometimes you just have to put your foot down and say enough is enough.
In the meantime, while this is discussed by legal teams, you can enjoy knowing that we already knew the truth anyway and enjoy the video of photos of Brad and Angelina with Maddox at the Superbowl in my previous post.

maria- Thanks for the link. I’m thinking, however, that it might be one of those deals where they did a cut and paste job with quotes from past interviews of her. The two quotes they shared sound very similar to things she’s said before (especially the one about how she had no desire to get pregnant before she met Brad).
Also, the photo on the cover looks like an old one to me (in fact, it looks to me like it could be a photo from when she did the Tomb Raider films!), and, from what I’ve seen, whenever magazines do an interview with a major celeb, they also do a photoshoot to go with it (in otherwords, if this were really a new interview with Angie, they probably wouldn’t have such an old photo of her on the cover!).
All of that said, good for Angie and Brad for finally suing a tab! Like several other commentors have said, it’s about time!

I hope they also sue that guy Ian Halperine because he wrote a bunch of lies in his book and it’s the worst of them all. It was actually the cause of this NOTW trash. What do you all think?

FINALLY! Thanks a lot for this information, Sherry! I was sooo happy to finally read that Brad and Angie are doing something to stop (???) these ugly rumors. Keats – I have to totally agree with you. I, too, am sick and tired of these slanderous and intrusive rumors that have been written about this beautiful couple and their family for the lastfive years. Hopefully they will now stop for a while. Those pics taken on Sunday at Super Bowl speak their own language. They show that Brad and Angie are TRULY in love. That KISS is very REAL and all that PDA was very genuine. I really hope that they´ll win this case against NOTW. Serves them right! After this NOTW should think twice about printing these kind of LIES about any celeb! Go Brad and Angie!

it shouldn’t stop with the newspaper.i believe that someone in their inner circle is a rat.pretending to be a friend or a faithful emplolyee.while telling personal things(mixing lies with the truth)about them.brad and angeline need to find out who’s has their back and who’s doesn’t.also iknow everyone isn’t going to like this,but i think brad and angeline shouldn’t talk about their private lives so much.they should take a page out of beyonce and jay-z’s book.they don’t talk about their marriage and their personal lives at all.that’s why you never heard about or read their personal lives that much.i think it would work and if you say less.then you don’t give the press the info to used against you and twist to ‘their’ truth. i hope that they are in love and this just a pulbicity stunt

sylvia lowe – don´t worry! As far as I´m concerned that PDA wasn´t a publicity stunt and putting on a show! It was very, very REAL! That KISS for example was so real that it truly shows how much Brad and Angie love each other. And all those other moments of affection were very real. At least to me they looked like that. Don´t know about the rest of you Pittwatchers. These two don´t have to prove anything to the rest of the world. They simply don´t care about the rumors and aren´t ashamed to show their feelings for the world. To me they look more in love than EVER! Does a couple on the verge of a split act like this? I REALLY DON´T THINK SO! These two and their beautiful family will always be here no matter what the rags and haters say! God bless the JPs 4ever!

The court is going to ask NOTW to name their sources,one lawyer named has already denied ever meeting Brad and Angelina.Angelina said their staff sign confidential agreements.when they adopted Pax that tabloid had an interview with Pax’s grandparents ,turns out they were not but said they were paid to do so.l saw Matt damon,Johnny Depp,Nicole kidman talking about their family.Boyonce and jay Z spent most of last year in diffent countries and people started talking so noone is safe.

I really wish that Brad and Angie are giving NOTW the lesson of the lifetime! I believe that this rag has written similar stories about many British celebs and American ones too. As far as I remember the rag has been sued before.

Sylvia – A publicity stunt? Really? With their son there? I don’t think so. No one would put publicity ahead of their child.
Also, it’s been five years now. That’s a pretty long time for a “publicity stunt” if you ask me.

wow, this is brilliant news; I think Brad&Angie and their lawyer are taking the right course of action, absolutely. I can tell you now, most people in the UK would be happy to never ever see the NOTW ever go to print again, and those that do buy this slagrag do so for entertainment because they can’t stomach real news- it’s always been a total rumour-inventing rag. I’d believe they probably tell their reporters to make up any story that’ll sell BIG copy. I agree also with most of the comments here (as usual) that they’re sueing to show the children what is the right thing to do and how it has to be done – morals. Even very young children get to pick-up gossip and school colleagues can be unkind.

Sherry – thanks for your response to Sylvia. If that PDA was a “publicity stunt” it would be the longest publicity stunt EVER! Like you said it would have lasted for five years already. And I also agree with you about the thing you said. No one would put publicity ahead of their child! Mad knows that he and his siblings are more important to their parents than any publicity in the whole world. God bless the JPs 4ever!
