Several people have been commenting or emailing me, concerned about the rumors that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie split up. People have been asking why I haven’t posted about it. Well, because if I posted every time someone said their relationship was over, every week there would be at least one “oh my god, they broke up!” post followed by a “whew, no, they’re still together” post. These rumors circulate on a near-constant basis. If you look at any tabloid magazine, one week they’re saying Brad and Angie are finished, the next week they’re saying Brad and Angie are getting married, and the week after that they’re saying that they’ve just adopted ten new kids. And then the cycle continues.
However, apparently the concern is coming from the fact that Perez Hilton reported it. Except he didn’t really – he just acknowledged that there was a strong rumor going around. And actually, it appears that the rumor of Brad and Angelina splitting came from the National Enquirer. That tabloid trash isn’t even good enough to line your bird cage, let alone good enough to believe.
And in any case, Perez then reported that Angelina Jolie’s rep has denied the break-up rumors, calling them completely untrue.
I think I know why this is so persistent right now – we haven’t seen Angelina in months, not since Cannes. People have seen Brad on the red carpet without her at his side, something that is highly unusual. But these people are forgetting that the woman gave birth to twins, is breastfeeding, and likely completely exhausted. Then again, people are also saying that Brad looks unhappy lately. I disagree. I think he looks just like any other parent of young children. I looked like that, my husband looked like that, our friends all looked like that during the first months when no one is sleeping. The man is TIRED. It happens, it’s part of it.
But when you combine Angelina’s isolation in France, Brad’s solo red carpets, and his half-asleep expressions, it’s easy to see how tabloids would cash in on it all and speculate heavily.
Don’t believe the rumors just because they’re there. Is this couple bullet-proof? Of course not, any relationship can end. However, as far as strong Hollywood couples go, I’d say that these two are among the strongest, and unless a reputable source says that it’s ended, I’m going to carry on without worrying about it!
OK, we can all relax now. According to the latest internet rumor, it’s *George and Brad* who are breaking up (“Pitt and Clooney now Oceans apart”) – I didn’t bother reading the gory details.
Eek! I almost forgot – thanks for the reminder Neela. That reminds me to check at Kinokubiya (?) in Japantown if they have that Japanese Elle (or was it Cosmo? And there’s also a U.K. magazine, either Elle or Cosmo.
I guess with WANTED coming out next month it’ll be hot and heavy with Angelina on the covers of every magazine, plus tons of interviews – I hope.
GUYS ,GUYS, DO ALL OF YOU EVER LEARN? IT IS JUST GOSSIP, NATIONAL ENQUIRE OF ALL MAGAZINE. THIS BEEN SUED SO MANY TIMES BECUZ OF LIES. DON’T PAY ATTENTION TO ALL OF THIS. BRAD AND ANGIE ARE HAPPY WITH THEIR BABIES TOGETHER. FOUR PLUS TWINS ARE REALLY HARD, EVEN IF THERE ARE COUPLE OF HELP. CHILDREN ALWAYS WANTS MOMMY OR DADDY. WILL SEE THEM SOMETIME SOON.
@Lucy, you’re right. I think they’ll weather any problems that come their way. Apart from being one of the most popular people in the planet, they are just like any other couple. They’re only human. They’re not perfect, but if they love each other enough, then, they should be able to work out anything. They’re also older, meaning they’ve progressed or evolved from how they used to be, and now they also have children. So, they should be given the benefit of the doubt of being able to commit to each other through and through.
Don’t forget. The new issue of W is coming up, too! Can’t wait to see Brad’s shots of the family :)

I have NEVER posted or really told this, but I house sit…. for some folks in Springfield….. they are gone…. visiting their son and his “friend’ who live in france and have 2 new babies…. they are ALL having a good time!!!!!

I don’t even look at grocery tabs anymore. They are all too negative and desperate. They cannot sell their subscription if Brad or Angie is not on the cover or “My Dinner with Brad,” type of cover. Read “Laineygossip.com” a week ago about Brad’s trip to Toronto festival and you will see how quickly he made and trip and flew back to France to be with his loved ones. I used to read PerezH but I stopped a year ago since the comments and articles are so vulgar and offensive. He wants to get the hits which are dying on his site. Well, October will be the premier of Angie’s next movie so the tabs will think of something bad about that too. Pathetic! I’m sure Brad and Angie are enjoying their stay in France with more r and r.

Fan, :sigh:, I’ve never seen a biography of Brad either on A&E or E!. You’re so lucky you caught it. I checked and it’s not playing on A&E, at least not for the next 3 days. Worse, I checked their Biography episodes list and Brad isn’t listed there. ( Praying to the TV Gods & Goddesses: please repeat it, please repeat it, please repeat it…)

is there somthing wrong with that, the tabs sale may have slow down so they need to get them back on the cover. Starting rumors about break up is a sure way to get everyone’s paying attention again. Angie had said in interview she wanted to take a giant amount of time off and brad is looking to work I have the mag. Brad would be a bad dad if he did not help her with the kids, no matter how many nanny you have, the kid respond too thier parents better and they are more healther,they plan every move give them some time to get back in the public eye, we all miss seeing them togather. I just have so much faith in them,and their relationship.I believe they can weather any storm, the tabs always ues their own words aginst them. He look tired, six kid demand alot a time,as you fall asleep one of them weak up. Just pray that their love last till the end of time.

Umm, does anyone here think Angelina, Brad, or anyone working for them reads this blog?
Phoebe, I’m sure if you google it, you’ll find it – I think it was at TIFF08 so that limits the search. Like Rach, I read the same exact thing about Brad acting like he was a goner for Angelina – very cute. I read/scan so many articles from my Angelina & Brad alerts, that I don’t remember the sources all the time. I’d offer to search for you but I just don’t have the time. ;-)

I think you hit the nail right on the head. I’m a fan of Atlas Shrugged, and though I haven’t read the Fountainhead, I’ve seen the film. What a great way to reference a classic, and it does seem fitting that you should make a correlation between the novel and the tabs’ tactics.

First, like Sherry I was totally mad when I read that “JJB” comments (see above), and I think she cannot fool anyone in here, she really doesn’t sound like a fan! She reminds me of Life & Style, almost highjacking Brad and Angie to come and show for “some little pictures” otherwise they would keep printing the false rumours about the birth of the twins. Is JJB working for a trash tabloid when she wrote that Brad “must show (to the media) some little attention toward Angie, that he must talk (to media) about Angie…”??? I think it’s quite weird and laughable, when I on the other hand, I am very happy that Angie could keep some privacy with her newborn twins! Actually I also believe that JJB is a Jen Fan because she sounds like a Jen Fan as I sound very team Jolie. he he.
All joking aside, IMO Angie and Brad deliberately hide themselves from the media attention from the day when two french paparazzi managed to get into their garden, only few feet from their doorstep dressed in camouflage. I am French, and I’ve always said that if Brad and Angie had chosen to give birth in France for some privacy they might be disappointed because french paparrazzi are fierce and fearless. Do you guys know that MOST of paparazzi agencies in LA, at least the biggest like the kinds of TMZ, *17online and so on are ALL run by french people??? The worse thing is that after the paparazzi’s intrusion, the event was aired everywhere, with the Head of the Gendarmerie of the area (which is maybe the equivalent of the Head of Security of a huge county, sort of, I’m sorry) telling the French that “celebrities” are the least of their preoccupation. I’m not kidding, I have heard that all day long on national TVs. It’s shameful, and it’s even more shameful when few weeks later in Corsica, the house of Christian Clavier a very well-known french actor was invaded by peaceful demonstrators who had no intention to steal 10 million dollar photos of newborn twins, yet the Head of the Police Departement this time was fired straightaway because this actor is a close friend to the French President. I think that Brad and Angie have just learned to stay quite the hard way.
