According to the AP, Brad Pitt is in Chicago at Grant Park with the crowds who are currently celebrating Barack Obama being elected as president.
Now we know why the Jolie-Pitt family decided to stay in the U.S. while Brad is on a filming break from Inglourious Basterds. Although they easily could have gone back to France or to their current rental in Berlin, they remained in the U.S. – not because they needed to be there to vote since they could have done so in advance – but because they wanted to be on home ground to see the results of the election.
If any photos of Brad Pitt in Grant Park celebrating Obama’s victory pop up I’ll be sure to let you know!
(Thank you for the heads’ up Lena!)

God Bless President Elect Obama, keep him and his family safe. This was history in the making. I remember watching Martin Luther King, I remember Selma, I remember when blacks were not allowed to sit any where they wanted on a bus, I remember when blacks couldn’t go to white schools, I remember when blacks could not vote, and I am so happy that I have now seen a person of color become President of the United States. He has his work cut out for him. Today I am very proud to be an American. I hope we will be able to get back our good image in the international world.
From Kate at JJ:
I\’m from chicago and saw Brad today. I work at a hotel, he arrived this afternoon with Cate Blanchet and a bunch of other people I have no idea who they are. He\’s taping Oprah tomorrow. My friend has tickets. I\’ll write a recap when I\’m back.
Cate was with her baby.
According to WGN news anchor who is in Chicago where Obama made his winning speech, Brad & Angie walked right behind him while he was interviewing Jesse Jackson. The guys at the newsroom joked that he was fired for not getting them on camera and interviewing them.

i’m so happy: obama is the new president of the USA, but he brings hope all across the world! the belgians are really fans of barack obama, and i think billions of people in the world are happy after this election. it’s great that brad went in chicago, i’m sure he is really proud to be an american citizen today! hope the promised changes ‘ll happen.
god bless M. Obama, God bless Brad and his family, God bless you and all the american people
I was at JJB, and there is a video of Brad, just a few seconds. He is walking around. Someone on that site said that a reporter was interviewing Jesse Jackson, and Brad/Angie walked behind him. They joked that the reporter was going to be fired because he did not get them on camera. I just love that the Brange can show the world that they are still together, and haters can… Well you know,,
The elections are over and I am so proud. No words to express my joy.
Fans don’t forget Changeling is still playing. Go celebrate with a great movie. Support the Angie..
brad is in chicago for the taping of the oprah winfrey show with cate blanchett i believe. brad could of either gone to chicago from L.A on his own for 24 hours or angelina and kids could of gone with him. but brad being in chicago was always planned for this time weeks ago.
Congratulations to all American citizens for your new president! You finally got the first Afro-American president. I really hope that things in your country get only better now. If I were American I would also have voted Barack Obama. What comes to Brad and Angie they sure were and are still in Chicago. She sure was tired and stayed at the hotel with the kids and watched TV. Or maybe she went to the festivities for a while and left early. She trusts her man so much that she let him celebrate by himself. But the main thing is that the whole family is together. God bless the JP family!
Congratulations to all US citizens on Pittwatch and to America for having a new president! I hope that this will open up a new era for America with great success, peace and prosperity.
It would be nice to see some pictures of Brad and Angie celebrating this victory.
Proposition 8, the proposition that Brad is supporting for a NO is not winning right now in California. I was right after all that they are in the U.S. for the election. He is probably in Illinois for the taping of Oprah’s show too.
I am happy Obama won! I can’t sleep right now because of this!
I was watching CNN cover Obama’s speech. I saw Oprah a couple of times, but the camera never really found Brad.
I have been watching on CBC and they mentioned seeing Brad Pitt. I saw Oprah in the crowd, but not Brad. Hopefully someone got a picture. Canadians are thrilled with the results! Dancing in the streets all over the world!
I am so happy that they voted for Barack and i am so happy that they will be having a delightful night tonight. The election was amazing and even though i’m going to be absolutely knackered at work later it was well worth it :)
Am watching tv right now and they just announced Brad is there in Grant Park….so I’m glued to the set even more!
