Brad Pitt in Details

Brad Pitt Details cover

Are you in the mood to read Brad PItt’s interview in Details? You can read the whole article right here. Some of my favorite highlights are:

Regarding The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford:

There’s a big lack of understanding of consequence. Especially with the Robert Ford character (played by Casey Affleck). This isn’t so much a Western. It plays more like a psychological study of these guys. I probably just killed ticket sales right there. I’ve never been a good salesman.

On his passion for helping New Orleans:

The people of New Orleans have been failed on the federal level, and the state level, and the local level.

The truth about the paparazzi:

It is the defining annoyance of my life. I just think how strange it is for my kids. Mad, Z, Pax — they really believe that every time you go outside there is a herd of people with cameras snapping flashes in your face (who) are going to kind of block your way when you’re trying to get somewhere.

Being over 40 years old:

Your face kind of goes. Your body’s not quite working the same. But you earned it. You earned that, things falling apart.

Brad also has an interview in V magazine which will be available on Friday. Some highlights from that interview:

More on filming Jesse James:

I remember making it vividly. For one, Angie (partner Angelina Jolie) was pregnant. It was a very nice time for us. … So personally, it was a magical time.

The choice to make New Orleans their true home base:

We’ve made our American base there. We have a place in L.A., but it’s become impossible. There are too many paparazzi, too many people outside the gate, too much following, too much sticking cameras in kids’ faces. I want to have some semblance of a real life. We have managed to find that in New Orleans.

On his split with ex-wife Jennifer Aniston:

I don’t know how better to have handled it. My view was, this is no one’s business in the end — at least in matters of the heart. So you need to protect all involved as much as possible. I don’t know if that cooled things off or exacerbated them, but it was a thing I felt justly about at the time. Again, the thing guiding me then was you don’t know how many days you have and you need life to be everything you want it to be. … Jen and I still maintain a deep friendship and have a lot of life together that isn’t erased in any way.

(God, now that he’s said that maybe all the naysayers can shut up and go home and leave Brad, Angie, and their fans alone, yes?)

More on age:

When you turn 40, all of that pressure (to take on the blockbuster role) evaporates. And then you become a father and then … forget about it. It’s not an issue. I’m at a point where I feel like I understand what I’m doing. … As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized the most important thing on a project is the people I’m working with. That’s what I remember most about the films I’ve done.

Well all i can say Sheela is that you were not in the room with them.

Jennifer, Courtney and Kristen Hahn all said he did not cheat on her. In my opinion they know him better than you and your Lies weekly magazine and View show.

They also said that he admitted to Jen about his attraction and he had been fighting it a long time. Which is precisely what he just said.

all i can say is fate brought them together on mms. now both admitted to love e/o and on the best times of their lives. as we can see they look soooo happy and contented with the family that they’ve created. a lot of ppl i know had embraced them now esp.w/ their humanitarian roles and praying that they stay together longer i pray its forever! God Bless The BAMPZS Family!

The Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston relationship ended so quickly it caught us all by storm. Brad rarely talks about his “previous” life but in an interview with V magazine he decided to open up claiming that he and Jen are maintain a “deep friendship.”

On his last days of his marriage with Aniston: “The most important thing about that time was for Jen and me to figure out if – how do I put it? – if we didn’t want to go on without any outside influence.”

On trying to get all he can out of his marriage with Aniston: “Is this where we got off? Have we taken this as far as we wanted to go?” He says, “Those questions had to be answered before an attraction to Angie could be answered.”

On how he handled the split with Aniston: “I don’t know how better to have handled it…The thing guiding me then was you don’t know how many days you have, and you need life to be everything you need it to be.”

I don’t know about you but I think he was having an affair with Angelina Jolie way before he “announced” his split with Jen. They were probably hooking up the first couple of weeks while shooting Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

    Thanks Sherry!

I have to say I did not like the interview technique, and you can tell the journalist doesn’t like Brad or Angie very much.

He is biased and obviously a fan of the other one…he declared this right at the beginning and his tone towards Brad and Angie tells of this. It reminds me of Angie’s Vogue interview and the snarky comments the interviewer added throughout.

I hope the V article will be less snarky. I already like the four different covers they have done.

Thanks for linking us to the entire article Sherry! This is one of my favorite quotes from the interview:

“You just look at them and go, my daughter’s from Ethiopia, two sons from Asia, a daughter who’s born in Namibia—and they are brother and sister. They have the same dynamics I had growing up, and I . . .” Pause. “It pleases me so much. I get so warm. I don’t even see in that, anymore, what their lives could have been. I have to intellectually think about that. They are a bond, they are a family. And I want to see those bonds and that family grow. And that right there, sitting in our kitchen, is how I want to see the world. It’s how I want the world to be.”

Brad needs to stop all of that “I’m 40 and my face is going” stuff. To me, he like a fine wine…he only gets better with age :-)

Now since he had two interviews, is this the one with the deep friendship thing about JA or the V interview? Someone mentioned in a blog which I agree with that he is just reinstating that their divorce was amicable. It basically boils down to the two of them having different perspectives of the future. I know, this sounds harsh, but I agree with Lainey that at some point in ultimatum even before Angie met Brad, he wants to start a big family before or after 40 years old and she on the other hand wants to establish a stronger career after Friends. I think, there is also a part in one of the interviews that said, Brad and JA had taken their marriage as far as it can go (just a joke, they should fire their marriage counselor). On the other hand of great fate and destiny, the ultimate reason Angie left her marriage from BBT was because he wants to spend more time with his band than with Angie and Maddox. I watched this on her bio. Anyway, we can write a book about his answers and dissect every sentence, but why even do that. He is in love, he is happy and healthy. He shares his gifts to the needy and he loves and supports his family. He is in good terms with his X whom he loves and respects. He lives with his great love who happens to be one of the most beautiful woman in the world. He chose the right path. Any other tabloid who will write anymore of the “split” even an announcer from the French TV said their expressions (Brad and Angie in Venice) look like they are hiding a “relationship on the rocks,” are all lies, lies, lies.

What a gentleman, no wonder Ange fell in love with him, he is such a remarkable person, thanks to Ange for bringing out the best of Brad. He is very different when he was with his x, he is more caring individual & more open now & I like that Italian interview when he said ” Ange is my great love, my best friend & fantastic mother. That’s what he defines Ange. Well said Brad. The Jolie-Pitt’s are truly a remarkable family.
