Brad Pitt is an emotional man

Birth may focus on the mother, but that doesn’t mean the dad doesn’t feel sentimental. According to Dr. Sussman at the Lenval hospital, Brad Pitt was “perfectly calm, totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional”. Aww. I love a man who can cry because his baby (or babies in this case) is being born.

He said that the birth was very straightforward with no complications and that Angelina Jolie had an epidural so she was very cheerful and talkative, laughing with Brad throughout.

Although the babies are doing just fine, Dr. Sussman didn’t give a specific day for the family to leave the hospital because in Europe the mother usually stays a little longer. With both my kids I was eager to go home by the end of the second day when I was being given the okay to leave, but after a day or two at home I found myself wishing I could go back so people were there to take care of me! So hopefully Angelina will get a decent amount of rest even though she’s probably fed up of the hospital walls by now and missing her kids at home.

Meanwhile, Brad spoke with the mayor of Nice not too long after helping to cut the umbilical cords of his babies. He told Mayor Estrosi that he is “the happiest father ever”. Apparently he was so incredibly happy that he kept saying the same thing over and over to everyone he spoke to.

The mayor himself signed the birth certificates at the hospital. Afterwards, he spoke to the Nice Matin newspapers and said, “[Brad] told me we chose one of the best hospitals in the world, one of the best doctors, one of the best medical teams. And also the most beautiful bay in the world.”

I can’t wait to see what the babies look like – I love babies!

Fan from Vietnam, maybe you are right.
It is amazing how many people are now coming to Pittwatch. There was a comment from Russia a day or two ago.
Sherry, maybe sometime when things quiet down we could have a discussion on why there are so many people through out the world who love this family. I am not sure I could even put it into words. I know that there would be alot that would say we don’t have enough going on in our lives. Well we know that is not true we are all very busy, but we love the Jolie-Pitts. Why, Why, Why???????

Mary Ann, yes, I would also love to hear everyone here talk about why they love this family. I think it will be a great discussion. Angie and Brad are very popular in our country and news about them appears almost everyday on local media. I think they have become even more popular after Pax became a member of this wonderful family.

I am glad I found this site because the fans here are friendly and highly intellectual.

ligaya, can´t believe your husband so supports your enthusiasm for the Jolie-Pitts. If my husband knew how often I come here, he´d divorce me! (just kidding, but slightly seriously…). He doesn´t really like people having an interest in gossip, and neither do I, but I am really interested in the Jolie-Pitts, even though I myself feel guilty coming here so regularly – almost every day. How about you others? How often do you come here? And how do you feel about it? Do you hide it from friends/family? Downplay it?

This man was really meant for fatherhood, and I’m glad he has gotten his wish when he got together with Angie. Angie is really lucky to have him, and she has voiced out her appreciation.

On a different note, I know they’re big celebrities and that they’re fodder for media, but the way the media has been covering the stories about them is so weird these days. Unfortunately, some have gone on to blame Brad and Angie for the media circus around them. I feel really bad for them sometimes because they seem to be in a no-win situation.

Victoria, My husband and I live with our daughter and her family. We have been with them for the last two years. This helps them out because they both go to business and they needed someone to watch over our granddaughters. So when school is in session I only have a little bit of time to come to Pittwatch. If there is something real exciting going on I have been known to get up early to check in. As for my family knowing that I spend alot of time checking out the Jolie-Pitts, my daughter reads the magazines so she will ask me what is going on. My daughter-in-law has never forgiven Brad for leaving Jen, so I don’t share to much with her. She is a very loving women who just is disappointed in Brad. Do any of them know how much time I spend here, I think they would all say, that if it makes Mom happy so what. I have always enjoyed the fan magazines, but have never felt as I do for this family. Maybe it was because I felt bad for Brad, and maybe it was because when I heard Maddox called him Dad I melted. Maybe it was because Angie never felt she would ever be like other women, trusting and loving a man. And I do think she trusts her life and her childrens lives to this man who is not afraid to show emotion. All I know is that it makes me happy to share comments with all of you here at Pittwatch. This is a safe haven with nice people, not people who talk trash.

I’ve no idea if this is true, it’s a sweet, sweet story anyway:

Angelina Jolie Gets Flowers From Children
By Adam Nutburn, July 17 2008

Staff at the Nice, France, hospital where Angelina Jolie gave birth Saturday were left with lumps in their throats — after the Hollywood superstar’s children presented her with flowers.

Accompanied by beaming-father Brad Pitt, Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3; and 2-year-old Shiloh each handed mom a single flower.

“It was a blessed sight,” one staffer at the Fondation Lenval tells Us Weekly magazine. “I had a lump in my throat.”

Tomb Raider star Jolie, 33, got more support from her family Thursday when her brother James Haven popped by for a visit.

Meanwhile, Angelina has received so many bouquets of flowers during her hospital stay, staffers had to store them in her security guards’ rooms.

Victoria, I’m “OUT” to all my family & friends, for the most part – they know the extent of my passions. (Except for the tab mags part – there’s very few places outside my house I’d be seen with them – snobbery.) I check Pittwatch every day usually, unless I’m working on a project or studies that take up all my time. And I usually check-in several times a day – at least a couple of times. Luckily, I’m retired so I can indulge this hobby.

I’ve been a super-fan of Angie’s for years. I really enjoy our online fan club. OTOH, I feel a little guilty that I’m not a faster reader & writer – I could use the free time for home projects.

I got really lucky in the husband department – he’s really open, flexible & playful. My hunny bunny hubby is my bestest friend in the world. He’s my best playmate. We have a lot of interests in common, and we share in each other’s separate interests too (him – singing, physics/cosmology/dialectics, baseball). He listens to my Angelina news every day, goes on museum dates, and generally goes along with my enthusiasms.

This isn’t the first time I’ve had a consuming hobby. I’m a huge Star Wars fan – we even went to a SW convention with George Lucas & actors (C3PO, R2D2, Anakin/Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Lando Calrissian). All the activities were a complete blast. (I have 2 collectible lightsabers.) Star Wars was the reason we went to Comic-Con – the 1st & last time I’ve seen Angelina personally.

I’m also a salt & pepper shaker collector – the ones shaped like things, fruit & veggie people. We’ve gone to quite a few of those conventions. Again, the activities were a blast.

I am also a huge Star Wars fan, that has been reborn lately due to the fact my 7yr old son and his friends are all really into Star Wars. I have made so many Jedi Costumes for halloween in the last 2 yrs, plus and yodi and Queen Padmé Amidala. This year they wanted to be jango and boba fett I think I’ll have to buy them this time around.

Yay, Kim! So great that you sewed SW costumes – that’s a talent I don’t have. I’ve been on a mission from Yoda to spread the Gospel of Star Wars to my godsons, grand-nephews, etc. Hubby & I saw the SW costumes used in the movies – incredible! Especially Padme’s costumes – and Darth Vader. We saw it 2x!

But the neatest thing was my son Ryan (Half Nelson writer/director) staying overnight at SW fans’ Holy Grail – Skywalker Ranch. George was artist in residence at the L.A. Film Festival & he invited all the directors to a workshop at the Ranch! I volunteered to be Ryan’s assistant, but he didn’t go for it, LOL. Ryan did bring back a photo of him with George.

Hi, Kim – I’m under moderation again. It’s about Star Wars costumes & how my son Ryan ended up staying at Skywalker Ranch.

Merci beaucoup, Melodie (curtsying)! A very belated Happy Bastille Day! Bon chance on teaching the Jolie-Pitts French! I think U.S. English has lots of French & Spanish words in it, e.g. parlay/palaver/parles/palabra. Louisiana has a very strong French influence. I found out San Francisco has the biggest French Quarter (outside of New Orleans) & biggest Bastille Day celebration in the U.S. – I’ll have to go next year. I pick up a couple words here & there from French movies, and there’s French pastries & cuisine, lol. I want to go to France again (visited 3x) but our economy might seriously go into Depression. My husband might even have to put off retiring.
