Birth may focus on the mother, but that doesn’t mean the dad doesn’t feel sentimental. According to Dr. Sussman at the Lenval hospital, Brad Pitt was “perfectly calm, totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional”. Aww. I love a man who can cry because his baby (or babies in this case) is being born.
He said that the birth was very straightforward with no complications and that Angelina Jolie had an epidural so she was very cheerful and talkative, laughing with Brad throughout.
Although the babies are doing just fine, Dr. Sussman didn’t give a specific day for the family to leave the hospital because in Europe the mother usually stays a little longer. With both my kids I was eager to go home by the end of the second day when I was being given the okay to leave, but after a day or two at home I found myself wishing I could go back so people were there to take care of me! So hopefully Angelina will get a decent amount of rest even though she’s probably fed up of the hospital walls by now and missing her kids at home.
Meanwhile, Brad spoke with the mayor of Nice not too long after helping to cut the umbilical cords of his babies. He told Mayor Estrosi that he is “the happiest father ever”. Apparently he was so incredibly happy that he kept saying the same thing over and over to everyone he spoke to.
The mayor himself signed the birth certificates at the hospital. Afterwards, he spoke to the Nice Matin newspapers and said, “[Brad] told me we chose one of the best hospitals in the world, one of the best doctors, one of the best medical teams. And also the most beautiful bay in the world.”
I can’t wait to see what the babies look like – I love babies!

I can’t resist coming in and out of this site several times a day over the last few days. I have a warm feeling everytime I come here, probably because we all have one thing in common – we all love this couple so much!
I have been thinking why everything that happens to this family is so perfect – the best looking man and the most beautiful woman on earth giving birth to twin boy and twin girl (a dream to most of us!), making it a family of 3 boys and 3 girls! It cannot be more perfect than this!
I believe it is not pure luck. This couple has been giving so much to the world that maybe the twins are the greatest gifts God can think of to give back to them!
I was so touched when seeing that Brad was “very moved and emotional” when the twins were born and that he kept repeating over and over again that he was the “happiest dad in the world!”. I think it must have been the greatest joy he has ever had in his life. His life long dream of having a big family has become true! I’m so happy for him!

The photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s new kids, Knox and Vivienne, will not be sold with a price tag as high as $20 million, as some outlets are reporting. Sure, “in the celebrity world, it seems to be the double-second coming,” as Darryn Lyons, owner of paparazzi agency Big Pictures, tells it. But the fee that either People or OK! hands over, while enormous, will not even come close to the figures being reported.
Most of the rumor mongering about photo pricing begins with the agencies themselves, whose business interests are served by inflating the sale price with leaked gossip. The tabloids, meanwhile, aren’t entirely innocent in this charade; by complicity going along with, or ignoring, the stories about how much they’re forking over, they benefit from endless free publicity and a brand building exercise that attaches “industry authority” mentality to their magazines.
As celebrity weekly editors who have done this sort of transaction a time or two in the past tell us, the final sale price would “very likely” be in the “nine digits,” meaning $8 or 9 million, not the $15, $22, or — as this story grows into an unstoppable beast — the $50 million figure that someone will inevitably attach to this.

It explains the naming. Did you guys know Knox was Brad’s grandfather’s middle name? Oh and Leon is Angelina’s great-great grandfather’s name?
I watched ET tonight & they talked mostly about the Jolie-Pitt twins. This time, Mary Hart is out of the picture.

I agree that usually people just focus on the mother when it comes to having babies. I myself kind of think of it that way. But I have to say that with THIS birth, it seems different and actually emphasized how involved and important the father can be in this whole process. I even was a bit shocked about it in the beginning. I kind of expected Brad to be out in the hallway and to show up at the end with a bouquet of flowers! But hearing the description of Brad’s words “I’m the happiest father in the world” said over and over (so cute !); seeing him give the news to the paper, talking with the mayor of Nice and photographed with the mayor of Nice (he looks so emotional, high almost in that picture!) you can really tell he was 100% a part of the process. It’s really beautiful. It’s also really intense and beautiful how Angie was awake during the C-section, Brad was there the whole time, and that they were talking with one another and laughing the whole time.
It’s so beautiful to see how much they love each other- Many people were predicting that Brad and Angie would flame out, but I knew they were totally wrong. These two were made for each other!
I just love an involved father
It appears to me that the Jolie-Pitts are becoming trend setters. The two babies born last week include both the mother and fathers names. And I hope that everyone is donating the money they get for their babies pictures. We know that Brad and Angie donate their’s so I say drive that price up as high as you can.
Debra I agree with you about the J Lo pictures of the babies. I am a huge fan of both Marc and J Lo, no one can sing like Marc, but I was so unhappy with the baby layout. It was to staged and I am surprised that Marc went along with it. He was always a very private person and these pictures were not what I was expecting.
This most important part got left out by mistake:
### For mere mortals, accepting bids on baby pics seems kind of crass, but in the universe where paparazzi orbit the planet Brangelina, the rules are a little different. Someone stood to earn a fortune from the first images of Shiloh, so why not make an end run around the media, generate several million dollars for a good cause and embarrass your critics into silence? (Because really, when Britney Spears treats her baby like an airbag, who’s going to snark about Brangelina exploiting the public’s fascination to raise money for charity?) ###

Terry, I agree with you. I see a lot of articles because I’m signed up for yahoo/google alerts. Looking just at the headlines, it would seem Brad is totally out of the picture! I don’t know if this is because Angie is such a polarizing person that they use just her name in the headlines to attract both h8ters & fans, or to make it seem Brad’s not strongly committed to Ange & their family. And if the media plans to pin anything/everything controversial on Angelina – the ‘weird’ names, ‘pimping’ her babies by selling their pics, getting special treatment, etc.

The couple’s prenatal stay in Namibia was likely Jolie’s idea — her work as the goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees brought her frequently to the continent, as did the adoption of her Ethiopian daughter, Zahara. No doubt Jolie, too, was behind the ingenious scheme to auction the first photos of Shiloh to the highest bidder — People magazine — and donate all the money to charity.

Aaww, that is so cute. Natasha, I completely agree. He wanted to have kids, but it never happened with Jennifer Aniston. I’m was so happy when Brad adopted Maddox and Zahara. They’re so cute together and you could see their happiness and fulfillment in their faces in EVERY picture. They look so content. I wish I could find happiness like that when I start a family. I love how they are multi-racial too. Brad and Angelina obviously aren’t racist, and that means so much to me. Can’t wait to see the pictures!

LOL! Somebody made a wikipedia page for Knox and Vivienne, but people are wanting to take it down. We should fight to keep it up for a few days, just for laughs…
