Here’s some excellent news! Brad Pitt will be back in Cannes this year to debut Inglourious Basterds!
The film festival runs from May 13-24 this year. Quentin Tarantino received the invitation and happily accepted, also entering the film into the competition. We won’t be able to see the movie until its official public release on August 21st, but I don’t mind since this means we’ll get to see Brad on the red carpet again, and since it’s so rare for them to do premieres separately, we’ll get a nice Angelina Jolie red carpet fix as well.
It may only be the 2nd of April right now but May is not far away. For some reason I love seeing Brad and Angelina in Cannes more than any other festival. Something about Cannes is just fun and exciting, and we know how much they love to spend time in France. Maybe they’ll take a little family vacation while they’re there if their work schedules allow it.
Hang in there, I know that we haven’t seen Brad and Angelina for awhile (and as always, the tabloids always have a field day when that happens, like they’ve never ever ducked out of public view before, give me a break), but hopefully we’ll see them out and about soon. Due to the lack of filming shots, I can only assume that Salt is currently shooting in a studio rather than on public streets. In the meantime, at least we can wait for Cannes now!

gena- I don’t know if they were at Cannes to promote Shark Tale and Troy in 2005. However, you got me wondering…Does anyone remember whether, if they DID appear at Cannes that year, they appeared together?
I would assume not, as the A Mighty Heart premire (or whichever movie it was that Angie did right after MMS) seemed to be their first public appearence as a couple.

Angela50- Thanks for the interview! You did a good job with the translating. I’m sure it’s a lot harder than it looks! After reading your translation of the interview (and this is absolutly nothing against you or your translation, I assure you), I can now easily see how easy it can be for their quotes in their international interviews to be taken out of context.
For example, I remember people pouncing all over Angie right after she adopted Pax for saying she was going to stay at home and help him adjust….and then jetting off for Prague to film Wanted just a month or two later.
In that case, the interview was translated multiple times. From what I understand, Angie gave the interview in English to the Vietnamese press. The Vietnamese press then translated it to Vietnamese….after which the American press translated it BACK into English for American magazines and news outlets.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if something was indeed lost in translation there. All in all, I think we need to be extra careful when we’re reading interviews that were orginally given to magazines and news outlets in non-English speaking foregin countries by Angie and Brad, as well as other celebs.
What I mean is, I think people need to realize that, in that case, it’s more than likely that what we’re reading is somewhat different than what was orginally said.
Anyway, back on topic! Awesome about Cannes! It’s interesting to think that it’s only a little over a month away, and that at that time last year, Angie was pregnant with Knox and Viv (remember that gorgoeus green dress she wore to the Kung Fu Panda premire at Cannes?)!
Not to mention the fact that it was at last year’s Cannes that Jack Black spilled the beans that Angie was in fact expecting twins!
Anyway, I wonder if they’ll stay in France for Shi’s birthday again this year (seeing as how her birthday is just three days after Cannes ends)? Speaking of which, I don’t know about the rest of you guys, but it’s hard for me to believe that she’s going to be three in just a little over a month!
All of that said, I know this is going off-topic a bit, but….With it being so quiet on the J-P front, I’m thinking it might be a good time for another discussion topic. What with the recent India adoption rumors, I think a good discussion topic would be when and from where they’ll really adopt from next (as well as whether they’ll adopt a boy or a girl and what age the child will be).
Oh, and Sherry, you’re absoultly right about the tabs! This week, Life & Style is claiming that Angie is addicted to dieting. Typical pattern for them. It seems like the tabs do the “trouble in paradise rumors” then adoption and/or pregnancy rumors, and then rumors about Angie’s weight. Occasionally they’ll actually shake things up a bit by doing a “story” like the one about Shiloh and Suri having a playdate (of course, they DID have to add the little blurb about Angie and Katie discussing babies to the bottom of the cover!)!
Thats for the article. Yeah! We get to see Brad and Angie again at Cannes. Think they have been at Cannes every year for at least the past 2 years.

Something to look forward to next month, I really like seeing Brad & Angie at Cannes red carpet. They are so awesome looking couple, their love story is such a beautiful one & should be written or made into a love story movie. I miss the Jolie-Pitt’s. God bless them.
