Do you have your own copy of Thelma and Louise? How about a copy of Troy? Keep them, they’re the last movies you’ll likely be able to see for a peek at Brad Pitt naked (or partially naked).
According to People magazine, Brad is ready to kick any nude scenes to the curb. Because he’s a father now, he wants to avoid any nudity that could be a problem for his kids.
“I don’t want to be embarrassed when my kids get old enough to see my films,” Pitt told the BBC in an interview that aired Tuesday. “I can’t see any more nude scenes [in my career.]“
On the one hand, I sort of figure if he’s already done some, it’s kind of too late, so go ahead and drop those drawers! *Ahem* But seriously, as a parent myself I do get it. Kids are embarrassed to discover they’re breathing the same air as their parents as it is, they don’t need their dad prancing naked on screen while women shriek in delight in the theaters. Brad can probably explain his earlier mild nude scenes as being something he did in his younger days.
Alas. Fans will miss that butt.
In related news, Brad did say one thing that I disagree with completely:
“I figure I’ve got very few films left. Who knows how many I’ll get to do now, so I want to do something I’m interested in. Otherwise, I don’t want to bother. I think it’s a younger person’s game.”
As far as I’m concerned, if he keeps making movies, we’ll keep watching. A great actor doesn’t have to be the next hot young thing. Some of the best actors out there are older than the new boys splashed across teen celeb magazines. I think maybe certain roles will stop being available to him but you never know – you’d never expect someone Harrison Ford‘s age to be starring in another Indiana Jones movie, and yet he is. Still, even if the roles do change, Brad will always be a star if he wants to keep acting.
He also said that there’s no chance of any further Ocean’s films, though he does see the possibility of working with BFF George Clooney and Matt Damon.
“We’ll find something else. I just don’t think there’s anywhere to go with that particular story,” he said.
Goodness, it feels good to have some Brad Pitt news again! And by the way, keep reading…

“I am always moved when I see artists such as George and Don use their positions to speak up for the most vulnerable of our fellow human beings,” Archbishop Tutu said in a statement, according to the peace and human rights Web site The Community.com. “They have brought the suffering in Sudan into the awareness of millions, and have raised tens of millions of dollars to assist the victims of violence there. They inspire us all and show that every person, in every walk of life, can do something to help make the world a better place.”
Over the past two years Clooney and Cheadle have both traveled to the African nation to bring attention to the plight of war refugees there, spoken to government leaders about the ongoing ethnic and tribal conflict in the region and appeared in the 2007 documentary Darfur Now.
Nudity or no nudity, I think it’s one of those individual choices – like staying put in one place or traveling with your mom, dad & siblings. :-)
I don’t know if this is an old interview being published now (like Cannes interviews published later when A Mighty Heart opened in certain countries). Maybe it’s a completely new interview. But I swear I read an earlier interview this year where Brad said he wasn’t going to do nude scenes any more. Looks like more media is picking up this announcement this time.
Happy 4th Birthday, Pax Thien. There are a whole bunch of aunties out here, should you need one. :-)
Today is Pax’s birthday
I think its nice of him to concern so much about his children. But actors kids it must be different a different view anyway, seeing their moms and dads playing other people or the hype of the fans arround. May they wouldnt see him as dad and more as the character he plays in the nude scene??? Dunno, must be strange anyway. I wonder if Angie will change her mind as well, *hehe* what will the kids say if they see Beowulf later….
Brad is a great dad and a great partner. He appears to be very committed to making his family his top priority. I am happy to see that he has lots of other interests besides acting. I am sure he looks at the careers of Paul Newman, Mike Douglas, Warren Beatty and others whose roles do become fewer sa they age, no matter how good they look. He is a great producer and a fine architect as well as a great actor.
