Brad Pitt's "Moneyball" still hanging in there

Although Brad Pitt got an extended vacation between films when Moneyball completely stalled, Sony doesn’t want to give up. I never imagined a movie about baseball would hold so much studio interest, but they really want this film to be made. I’m sure a big part of that is having Brad’s name in there.

At this time, director Bennett Miller – he directed the highly lauded Capote and was nominated for an Oscar for his efforts – is in negotiations with Sony to potentially take over for Steven Soderbergh who decided to drop the film.

No word on how long it will take for contracts to be settled and with all the delays the studio may have to accommodate Brad’s schedule. If The Tourist gets started early within the next year, Brad will likely request that Moneyball remains on hold until Angelina Jolie has finished filming since they both make a point of trying to avoid working at the same time.

Out of curiosity, who’s excited about Moneyball? I’ll be honest – the only appeal to this film is Brad Pitt’s presence. It’s definitely going to be a DVD movie for me because baseball is my least favorite sport of all time. If it was a hockey movie I’d be all over it, but not baseball unfortunately. The one thing that has me curious is that many people who read the original book have said they have no idea how they’ll turn this into a feature film so it may be interesting to see what they do with it, but that’s about it for me. I’m personally much more interested in all the talk about a prequel for Inglourious Basterds. You?

(Off-topic, that photo up top is from Brad’s visit to Capitol Hill and I must say, THAT is a goatee I can be on board with.)

Queen bee-that was such a very nice response that you just posted.

I like threads like this one.

The tabloids really don’t faze me. I don’t believe b and a are as oblivious to them as they claim, but I don’t think they care at all. They know their life and their relationship. Marriage/partnership/raising children is complicated. I’m sure they are both savoring it and slogging through the challenges just like most regular couples (only with a whole lot more money and opportunities and gorgeousness). But I don’t think they are either one worried about tabloids or rumors. And whoever said above that we know nothing about them is so right. We don’t. We see an image or a collection of beautiful images, a video of moments. They are, in a way, a fantasy for all of us. The ultimate happily ever after. But they are real and one thing is very, very obvious. Those two are devoted to those lucky, lucky children.

Sherry- Johnny and Vanessa aren’t married. Like Angie and Brad, they have stated that they don’t feel the need to get married. That being said, I agree completely with what you said! I’ll admit that I was shocked to hear of Angie doing such a movie, but not becasuse of Brad. The reason I was shocked is because of the kids. For some reason, I was surprised to hear that she apparently still wants to do movies with nudity and s*x scenes in them.

Brad said a year or so ago that he will not be doing anymore nude scenes because he doesn’t want to embarass the kids, so I guess I just assumed Angie would follow suit.

However, I don’t fault Angie for doing The Tourist, and I certainly don’t think she’d be doing it if Brad wasn’t okay with it! Like others have said, Angie and Johnny (and Brad too, obviously) are professional actors. When they film steamy scenes it is ACTING! In fact, quite a few actors say that they actually feel quite awkward when filming scenes like that (and really, who WOULDN’T feel awkward doing passionate kissing scenes and ahem, even steamier scenes, in front of a camera and probably quite a large crew? I know some people make s*x tapes, but I’m guessing it’s quite a bit different when you, your signifcant other, and the camera are the only ones in the room!).

Dana – is that song in your latest video of the JP family Queen´s “Radio GaGa”? It´s a perfect choice for this video. Just like the JP family is my favorite family Queen has been my favorite band for years.

Dana – thanks for the video! love it! :D you and carmen are really the best in doing videos for the JP’s!

telling the truth – I don’t see any problem regarding Angie doing s*xy scenes or n*de scenes since she has done that before and even when she’s already with Brad she also has some n*de scenes in Wanted and with SALT coming out she still has some sexy scenes there. So I think it’s Angie’s right to do that because she knows how to handle that kind of scenes and is professional, and really s*x scenes are not real they are just acting. And one movie star already revealed that sometimes it’s really funny doing it because you have at least 50 people watching you and you have to stop from time to time because someone would yell and say “can you move your hand a little”.. hehe..

kimmy- Very well said! I also forgot to say in my post last night that, from what I’ve read, most of the time actors aren’t actually “nude” during nude scenes. Most of the time they are actually wearing flesh-colored underwear or something similar, which is then sometimes painted out digitally depending on how much of a close-up that scene is. In otherwords the actors don’t actually see each other’s intimate parts!
