According to the Capital Times, in Madison, Wisconsin, Rock of Love star Bret Michaels rocked out the show last night. Michaels’ band –for those of us too young to remember- Poison took the stage, along with AquaNet-era peers Dokken and Sebastian Bach.
Katjusa Cisar, of the Capital Times, apparently didn’t find a lot of substance in the evening. Cisar points out what many have been thinking, that Michaels has built a product out of his beat up hat, his scalp-covering headband, one song devoid of any sexual irony or mystery (“Talk Dirty to Me”), and his VH1 show. Stir or shake to taste.
It would also seem that no one was pleased with the after party. Hundreds of bandana-clad fans handed over $30, and flocked to local hotspot, The Bean, to see Bret Michaels up close. He was likely to have done an acoustic set there. Bret Michaels, however, showed up around midnight, made his way to the stage, said how “awesome” everything was, slammed a Jager, then made his way back to the exit.
They may have paid $30 to see Bret Michaels take a shot, but at least it went to Type 1 Diabetes research.
Ah, well. Rock and Roll will never die.
