Britney: “Losing Her Identity and Credibility”

Is getting back into the media’s center stage making Britney Spears lose her identity and credibility? The oldest (and most dedicated) Britney Spears fansite on the net, WorldofBritney.com, seem to think so.

The site announced that it will close it’s doors January 31st due to

I think that WoB has had its run…….its feet are not holding firm anymore, not because of my ability to run it, but because I believe Britney is unfortunately done (for me at least). No matter what anyone thinks or how they may disagree, it’s very hard to maintain the respect needed to keep things going, so in turn, I’m trying to be a step ahead of it, and yes, for those of you laughing and remembering what happened in March of 2002, this time, it will be for good :)

The webmaster also used the opportunity and the probability that this press release would get a lot of attention to announce that he will now be blogging about celebs full time, and not just about Britney.

So is this real? Did Brit become so bad? Is it greed for more attention that closed WorldofBritney.com? When she was sexy at 16 no one seemed to have problems with it, but now, at 25 it takes a lot more to get the same attention…
