Britney Spears named Best Celebrity Mother

A U.K. poll ran recently, asking people to cast their votes for the “Best Celebrity Mother” and Britney Spears placed at the top of the list. Many people have been shocked by this, expressing surprise that Britney would be considered the top celebrity mother after things like her mental breakdown and the terrible night when she holed up in her bathroom, refusing to return Sean and Jayden to their father, Kevin Federline.

How could it be that Britney was named Best Celebrity Mother? This is what people ask.

I think this poll reflects the fact that fans are proud of her for making her way BACK to being a good mother. Yes, she made bad decisions in the past, yes she had legal problems that led to her losing custody. But look at how far she’s come. Britney has managed to re-gain a significant custody arrangement. She was able to bring her boys on tour with her so that she wouldn’t have large gaps in the times she could see them. In between shows she spent as much time with them as possible.

Britney hasn’t been seen partying like she used to. She’s been seen with her boys, with her boyfriend Jason Trawick, or simply stopping at Target or Starbucks. In other words, she’s gone from being a media trainwreck to a regular mom who happens to be a pop princess.

When you think of how far she’s come since her darker days, it’s not that much of a surprise.

Britney Spears beat out Christina Aguilera, Angelina Jolie, Jade Goody, and Katie Holmes among others.
