Britney Spears rumors have officials in India worried

As if we didn’t already know, this new story that I came across today shows just how much of a presence Britney Spears can be – even if people aren’t sure that she’s actually present!

There have been some rumors that Britney is in India right now, but no one has actually confirmed this to be true or false. However, locals claim to have spotted her relaxing on a houseboat, floating along blissfully. This has the local officials restless and concerned since any foreign guest who checks into a hotel is to be reported for security reasons. As of this moment, no official report has stated that Britney is in the country on a boat or otherwise, but they’re checking into it.

In the meantime the state tourism department has actually posted to Twitter claiming that Britney is indeed in India.

To me all of this shows two things: One, everyone wants to know where Britney is. Just thinking she may possibly be in India is enough to get everyone in a tizzy trying to find out if it’s true. Two, it’s apparently good for tourism if it’s been announced by the tourism department – obviously they figure it’s good advertising to say that Britney is visiting their country.

Meanwhile, Britney is probably just relaxing at home in California but just look at how much power the woman has! It’s kind of funny, don’t you think?
