Britney's Dad's Restaurant Closes

JJ Chill — the Venice, Calif., restaurant Britney Spears’ dad Jamie purchased in Nov. 2004 — has closed.

The Star reports:

“Jamie served a lot of icies — cups of flavored ice — and people don’t eat icies when it’s cold,” Wurm tells Star. So when the weather turned chilly recently people stopped going there. The place just wasn’t getting enough customers. The people leasing the place broke their lease and turned their keys in to me in mid-January. Now the space is available for rent.” Another source tells Star, “JJ Chill went out of business on December 31st, 2005.”

A nearby shopkeeper tells Star, “Britney would come by on occasion to spend time at her dad’s eatery, but when she came, she always brought with her a dozen paparazzi. Lots of people went there hoping to catch a glimpse of Britney, but the real draw was the food.”
