When Tom Cruise started calling Katie Holmes, Kate, the press and bloggers were sure she was going to bow down to the king and change her name to Kate. Well, as far as I can tell, Katie Holmes still goes by Katie Holmes.
OK! Magazine reports that Katie will not be using the name Kate for her Broadway debut, but will be sticking with Katie. That’s good to hear, since the name Katie Holmes rings a bell for most and Kate Holmes, well it just doesn’t sound right.
In other news, they say that John Lithgow is taking the stage name “Kate Lithgow” since Katie won’t be using it. LOL.
Geez, how many times did I use the words Katie and Kate in this story? Whatever.

When I think of the word unkempt, I think of disheveled, messy, dirty and unclean. None if those terms apply to Katie or Suri in all of the times we’ve seen them. Having a two year old with bangs that are too long due to maybe allowing her hair to grow out and a mom with very little or no makeup picking up her child from dance class does not show unkempt to me.
What is does show is a woman who feels confident enough with herself to be seen without makeup picking up her child after dance class at the end of the day.
you know,as much as i like you guys , imight give it abreak for a bit. i looked back on my psychological observation on katie and her life, and i think i have become too involved with the cruise family and the happenings in their life, was having coffee with a friend and found myself wanting to come home,so i could see what was happening here. catch up with you soon.
Hana, how can you see Suri’s eyes? Honestly, it’s not funny and not good for her eyesight. Even if they grow the hair out, they’re going to have to find a way to keep it out of her face. I would recommend Katie invest in a couple of barettes:)
I quite enjoyed the lack of news on the Cruise’s personal life and I hope they continue to get a break from the constant over analyzation of any and everything they do.

Annie: I know what you mean…I once felt like that when I was coming back from a holiday, I couldn’t wait to get back from the airport, to check what’s been happening in their lives….I know very sad.
Funny, the people criticizing the non-fans are the ones who keep dragging up all the old comments/criticisms.
Katie can have people call her whatever she wants. It is her career and life. She is allowed to make choices without everyone her dissecting it.
If anything, if this is earth shattering news, Katie’s name in ALL MY SONS, and enough to get your dander up to you guys, you obviously need to read the newspaper more….the front page section, not the entertainment section! Maybe then you can find something more important to argue about rather than what Katie or Kate calls herself.
Anyhow, are black and white the new ‘in’ colors this season?
Personally, I can’t see why with her millions Katie can’t buy some cute barettes for that child. From experience with kids, they usually hate having hair in their eyes. But, that is just my opinion!! (I can’t wait for the herd to dissect it.)

Anon, this thread is about Katie’s name in ALL MY SONS. The point is there are different threads for all different types of news/gossip we can talk about regarding the Cruises.
Its not like we can discuss whats on the front of the newspaper here, which btw I’ve read this morning.
Annie, I fully understand your predicament. It is so easy to get obsessed (strong term) with a celebrity that you dissect every minute detail of their lives. It is not healthy either. I visit Tomkat sites during my break. I call it my guilty pleasure.
They are fascinating, she is too good for him (Nice, a bit naive, sweet girl married to a twice divorced father of two 16 years her senior), he is too good for her (small town girl married to a superstar who was her bedroom pin up), no where in between.
They haven’t done anything interesting in a long while and yet I get excited when I see new pictures of them. At least it is positive energy:).I caution myself against obsession and that is why I visit only three sites these days.
Anon, I do agree about the way their lives are dissected and meanings given to everything however mundane, her hairstyle, if it is short or shorter or very very short, what does it mean, that her marriage is in trouble? Everything she does is interpereted as if it is a statement, even picking up her little girl from school at the end of the day. Sad.

Tia: I am aware what this thread is for. But, with the amount of research people here put into what Katie has said about her stage name and real name, it makes me wonder if they do read anything besides the entertainment section.

Sometimes it seems as if the discussion takes on a life of its own. Starts as one thing and here anyway it goes other directions. You limit yourself to 3 sites Lauren? Well since this is not my only topic of interest, I must say that I love the internet! I try these days to stay out of news and politics, but I will admit I have a number of websites that I love and depending on the discussion, I might surf and research a topic of interest for hours.
I too by the way, think that it is Katie getting lessons and I HOPE she does well in this play thing. I don’t know how she is going to manage it all, but it certainly is a golden opportunity that she has been given.
In all college classes that I have taken, any reference from Wikipedia is banned. Wikipedia is open to any type of add ons. Meaning that ANYONE with a Wikipedia account can go into ANY Wikipedia account and add whatever they want, whether it is true or not.
As for suris birth certificate, no one has ever seen her real one. There was a fake one published by a website. It was obviously a fake since it was not properly filled out or signed by the correct people, ie doctors/nurses/parents.
That is okay that a fake one was put out there, that way it keeps personal information such as dates and signatures, personal.
Puck, the Wikipedia debate is changing course. There are now courses at universities that are focusing on Wikipedia as a course of study.
Con mom, I meant 3 Tomkat sites. Katie’s fan site, Tom’s fan site and this. No use running around the internet from site to site. I used to get Tomkat news on every site that I could land on, but I realised that such harmless pursuits can can turn into an obsession.
Tyler, guilty pleasure is a just a common term used for something you love doing but is not necessarily beneficial to you. Nothing to do with guilt.
Lauren, got it. I usually associate guilty pleasure with eating a big piece of chocolate cake, with does carry a certain amount of guilt

ah thanks. I have another a couple of sites that are forums where you can post anything even an off topic subject for discussion. Then,I go to a Katie fan site that has lots of pictures and here, of course. I think there is a tomcruisefan site that I like as well for the pictures, but if we can keep the discussion in the friendly zone-which I guess you and I get hooked sometimes, LOL this site keeps me entertained.
By the way there is an article in the NY Post that is- and do NOT shoot the messenger–saying that ticket sales so far have been a little slow for the play. I would hope that they weren’t trying to bank on Katie because of her status with Tom but are presenting the whole cast in the promos. If you are a TC fan or groupie, don’t go find it–you won’t like it anyway… Splash news has a shorter blurp on it-still not terribly friendly to ‘the fam’
After reading the comments here, I went and found the NY post article, and I must say, as a TC and KH fan, it didn’t upset me at all. I was just baffled by it. Maybe I’ve become immune to these kind of rubbish (after all its the NY POST!) LOL!
I found it interesting how they chose to write the article…they take a dig at TC or KH here and there but also they give some reasonable reasoning as to why the sales might be slow.
And once again the “media” making this all about Katie Holmes/Tom Cruise…how sad is this? Was the comparison between NK and KH necessary? *shakes head*
Also, according to the same sources they claim Tom Cruise is going to Broadway too. LOL! *rolling eyes*

Let’s face it, NK and KH will always be compared. They were both manipulated by, I mean, married to Tom Cruise and both decided to go from movies to stage. Does it surprise you that the media is comparing them. Keep in mind that if it weren’t for the media, you’d have no reason to visit this site because there would be no site. Just as you give advice to others here, I could suggest that you stick with People magazine. Maybe that would be healthier for you.

Tyler, I didn’t say there shouldn’t be the media. Yes, sometimes I do find what the tabloid come up with “interesting” and just like you and everyone, I have an opinion on it!
And no, I don’t read People magazine, since we don’t get it where I live. *there is America and the is rest of the world* LOL!
