We have just under a week until the Venice Film Festival opens and we all know what that means right? Because the day that it opens – August 27th – is the day that they’re going to premiere the Coen Brothers’ Burn After Reading. And although none of us will get to go and see the movie until it’s released in theaters on September 12th, at least we know we’re more than likely going to see Brad Pitt on the red carpet.
I’m pretty sure that he’ll be there since he’s probably contractually obligated to be there to promote the film. Angelina Jolie was able to skip out on the regular premieres of Kung Fu Panda because she was a) in France and b) very pregnant. However, Brad has no such reasons for missing out and promoting a film is generally part of an actor’s job.
Whether Angelina Jolie will also be on the Venice red carpet or not will probably depend on how she’s feeling and how the twins are doing. I know I had a hard time leaving my oldest when she was three months old to go see my husband perform in a huge venue, though I did enjoy it. Angelina might decide to go since Europe is small enough to get back and forth relatively quickly, or she might decide the twins are too young or that she’s not ready for a public appearance.
But of course we all hope both Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will be on the red carpet in Venice next week! Right? Right!
Let’s pass the time with a reminder of the hilarity that this movie promises:
I can’t wait to see it! And stay tuned for some excellent Burn After Reading news coming next Monday morning!
(Admin note: I seriously apologize for the current weird nature of the comments. Our tech team is hard at work behind the scenes to rectify it. In the meantime, if you enter your comment and it suddenly disappears, it is simply in moderation, even if you don’t get the usual message. I will try my best to clear the queue every hour or two as long as I’m still up so that your comments get on the entries as quickly as possible. Thanks for your patience!)

This movie will be a big hit. I can’t wait to see it. Brad is funny, shows how versatile actor he is.I’m still hoping Angie will walk on the red carpet with him. The in laws can watch the children specially the twins for a day.God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.
I am soo going to be there opening night. I encourage all the Pitt/Jolie fans to really support this film. I want the haters eating crow. The cast is fantastic. All A-list performers. It seems like it is going to be so funny. Finally an adult movie. I get so tired of the teen boy flicks that appear every year. As an adult I want to see and adult film. Brad has such a gift for comedy. I don’t think he gets the credit he deserves for his comedic timing. It is a rare gift. My joy is to see he and Angie on the red carpet. But even more than that I want to see he and George do some press time together. That would be worth the price of a movie ticket alone.
Did anyone else see in the Twin baby pics that Shiloh had the words George on her shirt. I posted this some time ago. I wonder if it was a private joke to George. Maybe someone will ask about it if they are together. A week is too long for a Brange fix.
Woohoo. Can’t wait; going on opening day. It’s IMDB rating is way up, an someone on the messageboard there who says they’ve seen it is raving about Oscars and how great Brad’s performance is. Who knows if it’s true, but with the cast and the directors, maybe it’ll be a Jolie/Pitt Oscar season (Changeling/Burn After Reading).
Extra is showing Burn After Reading tonight.
Count me in, Debra77. I always see Angelina’s and Brad’s movies 2x on opening weekend, anyway. I was wondering about the “George” thing too.
I’m not even going to *try* to get BAR tix at the Toronto International Film Festival. It’s probably a gala and already sold out. I might try to see Brad on the RC, I’ll bring my binoculars.
This movie looks really funny so count me in also.
I love Brad when he does these ‘character’ roles. I think his good looks make him under appreciated as one of the top character actors of today.
This movie looks very funny. I for sure going to see this one.
yayy! i am so excited for this movie. i love the trailer – especially the part when brad was dancing. too funny. i don’t think Angie is going to attend the RC with the twins so little, but i’m still hoping she will and i’m still crossing my fingers.
Love the trailer. I agee, Brad is really funny. I thought he was funny + smoking hot in MMS.
I think he’s up there w/De Niro/ Pacino/ Densel & Gene Hackman when they become believable in the movies. I never watched Friend’s before, but, I was flipping thru and saw an episode with BP in it. Of course I watched it with him in it. I can’t believe how funny he was in THAT.
Can’t wait for some red carpet pics.
I agree “another Sherry” he is a very underrated actor due to his looks.
I agree that Brad has a hard time gaining acceptance as a serious actor because of his looks, but he is a talented man. Maybe one day he will be honored for that.
More good news for the family. The People magazine was a big seller, best in six years. Actually, the best before this one, (since the cover after JFK, Jr. died) was the cover with Shiloh. However, in the age of the internet, it wasn’t the sales that brought the most attention, it was an online record breaker for People. Cool.

On one of the Coen Brothers’ ET interviews, a question was asked about Brad’s hair in this movie. Their answer (while laughing) was that it was a great look and a way to get Brad to take off THAT hat (you know the newsboy cap he wore for so long). I think it certainly adds to the character and definitely dorkstatic!
Clooney and Pitt will host a fund raising dinner in Venice on August 26, during the city’s Film Festival, with guests from the worlds of entertainment, politics and culture expected to attend and show their support.

I am soooo glad that I discovered Pittwatch, actually stumbled on it and that the comments are on the positive side for those 2 wonderful folks that have found love and make a life with each other. This site is a place of refuge and comfort for people that want to follow with respect some of the things that Brad and Angie are doing with the family and just in general. I am also very glad to know that pittwatch does not “pit ” Brad Angie and Jennifer Aniston together Whew! It makes me weary reading the other sites and I do just to gauge the ugly . Once again it is so nice to know that there is a site called pittwatch and I can only hope that the couple knows about it.
Hi Sherry, here’s a thing i often notice to majority of your writings, you tend to always compare your own feelings, chores, thinking, perception to the jolie-pitt’s . If it comes only once then it’s okey..but reading it again and again to your writings make it boring…and the worst is- it’s very expected of you… it’s annoying- forgive the word please.. i love the jolie-pitt’s so much and i am visiting this site every night / day …please make me stay doing it… evaluate your writings… to make you realize what im trying to point out… we are interested to the jolie-pitt’s and not to your own feeling… i dont mean to offend you honestly. if you still dont get what im trying to say… here are the sample/s : ( I know I had a hard time leaving my oldest when she was three months old to go see my husband perform in a huge venue, though I did enjoy it.) when angie got pregnant – again you mention your own feeling about your pregnancy…, ( i cant manage to search and paste for the others…) come on, please get tired of doing these… im sorry to say this but we are not actually interested about you.. try to publish this on the comments – im sure many will agree and probably felt the same way too.
but hey dont get me wrong… take this constructively… remember repetition – makes it boring ( but it only applies to you) not with the jolie -pitt’s. OK? thanks.
Hi, Lee. I would like to welcome you. This site is great. It’s hidden treasure.
Welcome Lee, Sherry works hard to keep this a fun place to visit each day. Many thoughts and ideas are expressed here in a polite manner. So hope we will have you with us often. Can’t wait to see Brad and hopefully Angelina on the red carpet. The movie looks great and I look forward to seeing it.
Hi Lee, welcome to we pittwatchers. This is a great site. You’re correct we don’t “pit” one against the other, unless of course provoked and then, we are still respectful. Have a good look because you can go back & read stuff written from when they firsr got together.
Sherry (not me) DOES work hard to keep it pleasant and you’ll find most are happy to help you with questions. Glad your here.
hi Lee. (waving)
And hi from me too.
i can’t wait to see the red carpet pics! i hope brad would be able to bring his date (we all know who she is). it would be exciting!:D
thanks emilie for the link. i wish that the ‘fund raising dinner’ is just a cover for another event – a JP wedding ceremony. LOL!:)
Emilie, thanks for the link. i have a hunch that all the good guys who formed not on our watch – my shift key is not working – brad, george, don cheadle, matt damon and jerry bruckheimer are going to turn all their festival galas into fundraisers for darfur and other good causes.
i hope the other stars follow their example for their own charities, and that this practice becomes a regular part of festivities – much like elton john’s and others’ aids fundraisers.
UNDER MOD – Emilie, thanks for the link, plus more.
Susie, i hope Brad’s dorktastic performance will shatter his pretty boy/hunk image, and establish him as a versatile actor who can do comedy, drama, and romantic lead – much like Cary Grant.
i don’t remember who said it, but s/he said Brad was always a character actor in a hunk’s body.
UNDER MOD – Susie, about dorkstastic and more.
i meant Susie AND NEIL – UNDER MOD about Brad as a character actor.
Ligaya–wasn’t it you who asked one time “do you think just my name ligaya” goes under moderation? LOL……
That was me – wink -, i’d run out of explanations, lol.
Was looking at Just Jared and there is story that Brad took photos of Angie and the kids for W Magazine in November. Has anyone else seen that story?
lizz clai, I have been coming to this site for almost two years and you are mistaken. We here at Pittwatch all interact with each other. We all have one thing in common and it is our love for the Jolie-Pitts, but we also love to talk to each other and compare our lives. By speaking of our lives and comparing it to the Jolie-Pitts we come up with interesting thoughts and ideas. I believe you are very wrong when you say that Sherry should not comment on her life and family. Maybe you would be happier at some other site where the comments are hateful and crude. And boy I am sorry that Ligaya is at the film festival in Toronto because I am sure she would really put you in your place. You are right everyone has a right to their own opinion but you are wrong on this.
Oh, lizz-clai – please stuff it with your troll-like pronouncements. Some things you should already know if you‘ve *really* been at this site. 1. This is Sherry’s site, not yours. You don’t like it, there are plenty of others for people like you – better yet, start your own. 2. Don’t dare speak for me – you don’t speak for me or the overwhelming majority of Pittwatchers. 3. We like to combine our personal and the strictly Jolie-Pitt stuff, to show how we relate to them and other Pittwatchers.
Please don’t let the door hit you on your way out.
UNDER MOD: Oh, lizz-clai – please stuff it with your tr**l-like pronouncements. . . .
One sentence – under mod . . . .

Thanks, Mary Ann, I couldn’t have said it better myself. I put in my 2 cents, too.
I like all comments to go in my e-mail this way I can read everything. Lizz clai comment from Aug 22 showed up in my e-mail on Sept. 6th. So that is the reason I am just responding now. Lizz Clai this is a happy site and I do not agree with you at all.
I just got this Lizz dai comment, too. Odd it took so long by email!? Maybe you post was in moderation Ligaya…lol…
It really bothers me when someone like Lizz clai who claim they don’t wish to offend and then what do they do? They “repeatedly” offend while claiming not to. I love all of Sherry’s words & other Pittwather’s personal stories. That is what made me feel “comfortable enough” sharing mine own. So, FYI we’re like *family* here & if you were “truly” a fan, you’d have never made that rude comment to Sherry. Right on Mary Ann, Ligaya & others.
another Sherry, so glad to hear that it is not my computer. What a mystery, wonder why that didn’t go into our e-mails sooner? I don’t remember lizz clai commenting at any other time, so hopefully she will not return to Pittwatch. You are so right, we are like a family here.
