Caldwell With David Cook at Video Shoot

At his video shoot for his new single “Light On,” (a collaboration with former Soungarden lead singer, Chris Cornell) American Idol winner, David Cook was accompanied by, what many are referring to as his girlfriend, Kimberly Caldwell (also an Idol alumni who was very nice to me when I interviewed her earlier this year).  I’m guessing she kept him warm and toasty while they filmed the video outside!

The shoot, done at the field at L.A. Valley College, was subdued, with few frills and no audience.  The only problem was that it was an overnight shoot and, while the music played and David actually sang rather than just lip synching, nearby residents lodged a few complaints.  Ouch! 

I know those folks can, at least, have a funny story to tell when talking about their sleepless night but can you imagine what it was like for those people who needed to work the next morning or were trying to get a baby to sleep?  The video wrapped at around 6:30am (they started at 11pm the previous night) so that must have made, at least a few people, pretty upset.  Maybe he was hoping the song would inspire by making people leave their “lights on?”  Yeah, that was cheesy – forgive me, it’s late :)
