Matt Prokop has made his big screen debut in “High School Musical 3″. Kenny Ortega brought in 3 newbies, who most likely are there to carry on the HSM franchise.
So now that you have seen Prokop in action, do you think he has what it takes to step in and be the lead role in a new High School Musical film? I thought his most brilliant scene in the whole movie was when he took over Troy’s spot in the musical and sang with Sharpay. Classic scene!

I thought he did pretty well in the movie, i liked that scene with him and Sharpay too, but I don’t think he could carry the movie the way Zac Efron did…maybe, who knows…
He was a little annoying though, but i think his character was supposed to be.
To call him a little “Zac Efron” is a laughable notion. Matt just does not give off the leading man vibe. Not to say he couldn’t be a cute little sidekick (Which is pretty much what HSM3 made him look like, instead of future torch carrier.) but that’s about as far as I see it going.
And what’s the deal with the Donny? I think he had like, three lines it total. Neither one of the characters seem like they could carry HSM4.
Although, I was rather impressed with Jemma McKenzie-Brown’s performance. I bet she could fill Ashley Tisdale’s shoes, for sure.
If they make a HSM4, they need to bring at least SOME of the cast back. I have a great idea in my head on how they could make it work into the storyline.
I don’t think he can do it. Nothing against him but what the original cast had is pure magic and CAN NOT be duplicated as far as HSM goes. See to me this isn’t a formula it was chemistry. I’m telling you these original Wildcats have branded our hearts and I doubt very much that anybody else can even come close.
I think he did an OK job at his role..t least for disney… I hate to be rude but i think that the HSM cast is on its ending route and even if the old cast was in HSM 4 the magic wouldn’t happen. He just CAN NOT pull it off!

Well, I have to say, I have not seen the HSM3, it still isn’t playing in any theatre near me, but even without watching it, I do not think anyone could possibly be as good as Zac Efron, Vanessa Ann Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu, or Monique Coleman.
They have been in HSM for a long time now, and I dont believe anyone could possibly take over their places in the HSM franchise.
I’m not saying that because the “newbies” are bad actors/actresses, I’m just saying that, because of Zac and the rest of the crew have been the stars of HSM that many people or kids won’t like seeing the change.
I personally think that if the crew that has been there since the beginning wont be on it anymore, then they shouldnt have HSM anymore.
It wouldnt be the same without the regular cast on it. I’m sure that the newbies are just as good actors and actresses. Its just too odd.
But I wish them luck if they continue the franchise.
And good luck to the new regulars if the franchise continues.

I don’t think so that he can do what Zac Efron did to make HSM so plebeian. Cause based on what i have watched in HSM3, yes he is an actor… but not good enough compare to the other characters.
But who knows? If he will replace Zac Efron in HSM maybe it can be a blockbuster movie!!!
But I really really want Zac to play the role especially their tandem of Vanessa Anne Hudgens. I think Senior Year is not the last, ahahaha..maybe it can be “College Musical”!!

I havnt seen HSM 3 yet(cuz Im 22 and a guy lol) but I dont think anyone can carry on their legacy. It just wouldnt be the same so Im against any more movies. Watching 1 and then seeing 3 is something emotional for those of us who have been through it all, seen the characters and story develop so 3 is a good stopping point, end big and leave us with memories.
no he cannot carry the lead…i mean c’mon one role in which he came out and stole the spring musical…thats just sooo boring…i just doubt that the three newbies are the best that they could have found….they shouldnt make a new one..

That dude was fantastic. And all you actor wannabes who voted no, if you think you’re better just go and apply for an audition. Everybody suddenly became an expert… He was hilarious. I guess you would all just prefer to fill Efron’s face even more with make up, in order to look fifteen… He had so much make up on, that he looked like a girl… A wildkitty.

I agree as much as i love hsm i think they should quit at 3 and stop milking it for money…. And it would be dumb to continue it on with none of the same people….except sharpay was set up to return if they do a 4th…. It wont be they same without zac and everyone

I think that Matt and the other characters new to High School Musical 3 should definitely appear in High School Musical 4, but they needn’t be the leads. I believe that the story line would be disjointed and not believable if they were not to return. (They are a character bridge.) Matt can certainly bring comic relief. Also, the new boys could certainly participate meaningfully in the basketball scenes. It doesn’t mean they have to be the main characters. I don’t see Matt as the romantic lead. But then again…maybe if he is as good at serious as funny he could pull it off. I think they should do fair auditions, and cast it accordingly. Ryan is one of my favorite characters, as is Kelsie. (Kelsey?) In any case, there is room for many talents in a successful show.

The scene with Sharpay and Jimmie is so great I had to have a look at them several times I find he can better sing than Zac

Ohh clear that matt can HSM4 star, very talented and very professional and if they pay attention beyond matt sings much better than Zac Efron and then only because I saw hsm3 matt appeared because since Hannah Montana came out I fell in love, I am simply your fan, but of course matt can be the star and must be the protagonist because it is right, and it is more logical because matt can easily do the role of zac and also has everything to be the protagonist, has talent, beauty , Charisma, etc.. because of the 3 he has more personality and my best hsm3 and it was the one that took over my attention, simply perfect matt but it not HSM4 would be very, very very very boring, but yeah, matt is must be the protagonsita of HSM4.
