Looks like the Canadians are getting in on the Top Model action (I know France already did, and I saw one episode even though I had no idea what was going on).
If you’re in Canada and you think you have what it takes to be Canada’s Next Top Model, read on (actually you can read on regardless, cause it would be mean of me to stop you):
CHUM Television’s Citytv is beginning the search for “Canada’s Next Top Model”, an exciting new Canadian reality series based on the enormously successful “America’s Next Top Model”. Recruitment for participants for “Canada’s Next Top Model” begins today and ends Wednesday, December 21st, 2005. The show will premiere mid-May, 2006, on Citytv.
“Canada has been the source of so many of the world’s modeling superstars, it’s only natural that a search for the next top model would take place here,” said Roma Khanna, Senior Vice President Content, CHUM Television. “Not only will Canada’s Next Top Model be one of the most compelling talent search shows to connect with audiences across the country, it will make one young girl’s dream come true by launching her career as the next Canadian model to grace the world’s runways.”
“‘America’s Next Top Model has been a big success for Citytv and we anticipate this streak will continue with Canada’s Next Top Model,” said Armando Nunez, President, CBS Paramount International Television. “We are proud to add Canada to the growing roster of international territories that have embraced the Top Model format.”
It’s like a TV show chain (try saying that 10 times fast).
Beginning November 21st, “Canada’s Next Top Model” will conduct a nationwide search to find the 10 top contenders. The aspiring models will live together as they learn the ins-and-outs of the fashion world from leading industry experts. Each one-hour episode is built around an important aspect of the modeling profession. Participants will be asked to demonstrate both inner and outer beauty as they learn to master complicated catwalks, fashion photo shoots and deal with the glare of the media, all under 24-hour-a-day surveillance cameras that chronicle every move. One cast member will be eliminated each week, and the last model standing will win the coveted title of “Canada’s Next Top Model”.
How about the World’s Next Top Model? They could take all the winning contestants from all of the counties’ shows, put them together in a house, make sure none of them speak each others’ language, and voila! Instant hit.
If they steal my idea, I want the royalties.

I hear Terri Fotheringham entered the competition…..she is one of the sweetest,nicest,sincere, and gracious people I have ever met…..and beautiful to boot!
Terri is also a TERRIFIC working single mom of Anthony,and would really be an assat to the show!

I am sorry to tell you but the site Ingrid left has NO affiliation with “Canada’s Next Top Model”. That site is just “Canada’s Top Model”. I just didn’t want any of you to get the wrong information. Also, they made the deadline Dec 21 2005 for submissions so you’ll have to wait until next season. Enjoy!

I know from livejournal one of the girls that made it onto the show. I dunno if she’s made it to like the house or anything but she’s in the group right before it and i think shooting that episode. To b honest, I was a little….surprised.

In response to the post above… The top 10 has not been chosen yet. The producers have narrowed it down to 62 girls, and are finishing follow-up interviews this weekend. The top 10 will be contacted by February 1, 2005. Filming will last for approximately 5 weeks, and the girls will be housed in Victoria, BC.

On the website that ‘Ingrid’ posted does have a competition and is still looking for models. I was wondering if it’s the same as CNTP’s and if not how to register with CNTP.

Hi girls,
We have all been playing email tag to see if either one of us has been contacted regarding the final ten. I wrote Lia earlier this morning and she informed me that only the final ten would be contacted, and seeing as the contact date was the 1st of Feb, if you haven’t heard either than it means that we wern’t the lucky ones this time, but round two was a lot of fun, and congratulations to the top ten. :)

I audition for the show but neva made it on… i knew that canada would only have 1 dark skin model representing canada… but god… only 2 blacks.????

OK…Canada`s Next Top Model – the girls are beautiful – the setting is great – the show could be equally as great – BUT WHO THE HELL IS THE NARRIRATOR?? WHAT A DEADBEAT VOICE! AND HOW POINTLESS IS HIS COMMENTARY. Honestly, if anyone with any kind of influence on the creative side of the show happens to read this – GET RID OF OF THAT MONOTONE USELESS NARRIRATION! It really makes the show look second rate. Ok…I was just watching the show and was so bothered by this guy that I had to make a comment somewhere.

hi this is not a good judge show, andrea should have never won. not only that she is stiff but not cute at all. Honestly the show suck i hope u guys never have a next one. the styles that they have is ugle the hair style not happin please try again and next time pick the right girl cause i think rhat was a pity pick because she buy her stuff at goodwell that why u guys pick that girl. tyra whould never do that.
