The Top 10 on Canadian Idol were announced last night and, while I wasn’t exactly stunned, I was a bit surprised by some of the eliminations. Before I go into that, here are your Top 10:
- Mark Day
- Drew Wright
- Mookie Morris
- Earl Stevenson
- Theo Tams
- Katherine St. Laurent
- Amberly Thiessen
- Mitch MacDonald
- Adam Castelli
- Sebastian Pigott
There were six contestants sent home last night. They were: Marie-Pierre Bellerose, 25, Quebec City, QC; Katelyn Dawn, 19, Winnipeg, MB; Martin Kerr, 25, Edmonton, AB; Omar Lunan, 29, Scarborough, ON; Gary Morissette, 21, Fruitvale, BC and Oliver Pigott, 27, Toronto, ON.
I like Sebastian more but I think Oliver deserved a spot more than at least on person in the Top 10.

Yeah, the only real shocker was Oliver being sent.
The problem was that Monday’s show was so bad, and Tuesday night was so good. There were bad singers on Monday that stayed (Adam) and good singers on Tuesday sent packing (Oliver).
Too bad, with such a good crop of talent this year!
I’m happy that Drew made it into Top 10, as he’s my pick for this year. Too bad for Oliver though. It should’ve been him and not Mark Day.
I agree about Mark Day… but Newfoundland votes en masse.
I wasn’t really shocked. If I could change anything, though, I would have gotten rid of Mark and Adam… and replaced them with Katelyn and Oliver.
im real pissed about Oliver going home man that guy was cool he was a solid blues player and i respect him for what he did by letting his brother take a place in the top 10 without having any resentment thats real brother love. it was weak to put them both at the end and make them go head to head. the top 10 are a disapointment except for a few.
Mark Day stays and Oliver Pigott goes.. unbelievable. Oliver was one of the best singers in the competition IMO… not to mention he was actually cool. Adam Casetelli has been very unimpressive so far. So yah I agree with every thing that L said
Ohh yah im dissappointed that Gary Morissette didnt make it further. I liked his style.
I would trade out Mark and Adam for Oliver and Omar. I agree that the Mon. night group were way weak compared to Tues. I would have preferred the top ten vote getters(?) of both nights combined went through to top 10. Now let the popularity contest begin.
Poor Sebastian…I seen him on E-Talk and he said he was feeling high and low and a real mess right now…yes Mark Day and Adam come on Canada whatcha thinking these guys are boring and I agree with great humungus talent like Oliver and Omar should have been on…guess we voted wrong …the Pigott brothers were my favorite …they keep us glued to the show now I am only half glued lol
Well, I still say this is the best top 10 we’ve ever had… sure there are Mark and Katherine who don’t play instruments but they can sing. The top 16 was so good, its hard to choose a top 10 out of them that would satisfy everyone… i personally am not a fan of Mark and am a huge fan of Gary; he’s the only person i voted for… but i still think this top 10 is great, if the performances are awesome each week, we may look back in retrospect and say this season is even better than season 2… who knew back then before top 10 performances were starting that that would be the best season
I am so angry that Oliver didn’t make it and I am in shock that Mark and Adam did… they both sound awful… it definitely should have been Oliver and Omar in their place
