Canadian Idol begins a new season June 5th but one of the judges, Farley Flex, already has some choice words about the last season of American Idol. Here’s what he had to say:
“Sanjaya was put in there by the judges, it wasn’t the public that put him in there – the public kept him in there, but they didn’t put him in there,” said Flex.
“I’m very confident in the integrity of our panel and our vision of what we see as being the Top 22 to turn over to the public, so I’m pretty confident in saying there wouldn’t be a Sanjaya scenario in our world.”
Canadian Idol host, Ben Mulroney, also had an opinion on the matter.
“It was not necessarily the most exciting season or the most talented season,” said Mulroney, who believed that might have been one of the reasons why Sanjaya made the Top 10. “‘American Idol’ caters to controversy quite a bit and they really played to that … it was something to do.”

amanda – STEFFI D????? LOLOLOLOL!!! I had forgotten all about her but what was up with that? I liked the fact that she was unusual but the singing was something else.
I was surprised Farley said that, though. Meow, meow.
I know what you mean amanda! It’s so stupid. Canadian Idol has had worse people than Sanjaya in their top 24. They’ve gotta stop saying that they havent’ because that is completely untrue.
I do agree with what Ben Mulroney said about American Idol catering to controversy. Canadian Idol has not had the amount of controversies as AI has. If ever.
Unless my memory fails, I do believe Farley Flex and the judges allowed the following people into their top 24: Brock Groombridge, Brandon Jones, Daryl Brunt, Casey LeBlanc, Steffi D, and countless others whose names cannot recall…
Blah Blah..lets see what mess they come up wıth thıs season
