Dave, not sure if you were serious about the Rockstar question but the show was cancelled after the Supernova farce. It was nice to see Lukas Rossi in the audience last night though. He’s performing independently across the country now so you might be able to catch one of his shows.

First off, congratulations to Brian. I also liked him right from the top 100 and thought he did a great, consistent job. And I agree with the judges that he seems to be a decent humble guy so that makes him all the more appealing as an Idol winner. I have to admit that I’ve always disliked the “winner” songs that they have been forced to sing year after year but I can actually see myself loving Brian’s recorded version of this year’s song just because of the alt rock twist he seems to put on everything. Reminds me a bit of Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls.

I also think that Jaydee was just starting to come into his own in the last couple of weeks and I hope that he is encouraged to continue this as when he sings “just as himself” he truly is remarkable. There was just too much “Elvis channelling” in a lot of his performances for me. When I hear Brian on the radio, I will know it is him.

When does the next season of Rockstar start?

I guess it will come as no surprise to anyone who’s read my previous comments that I’m thrilled that Brian won. And while I agree that this has been the strangest season of Canadian Idol that I can remember, I don’t see why any of that should sour things for Brian. He did his best and the country voted for him. He deserves his win. As for the judges hugging, they always celebrate whoever wins… what made tonight any different from previous years?

Ohhh, Jessica Sheppard. I had forgotten about her but I really liked her. I feel like so many good people got left behind this season – Jessica, Liam, Greg, etc.

katie!!: While I love Brian’s version of Hallelujah, Josh Palmer sang it on the show a few seasons back and I daresay it was better, albeit different. I can’t find a video of it anywhere though. :(

Jeanne: Thanks for keeping us updated on all the idol happenings (especially Brian’s hats, haha). The only way I was able to keep up with this season was through your blog. :)

Gosh, I just realized that I’m going to miss everyone here now that it’s over. I guess I’m going to have to start watching American and Australian Idols! :P

The judges definitely did their best to sway the votes towards Brian. I guess that’s as good as fixing the vote! Now they’ll likely be tripping over each other to get JayDee’s contract!!!

The judges got what they wanted. Terrible season.

Kimmy – I do think the judges’ comments and the hugging (yeah, Bored Idol Fan, I noticed it too) really put a damper on things for Brian which is too bad.

It’s like when Christine Hanlon was hailed over Jessica Sheppard – all it did was turn people against Christine.

OMG i am soooo happy for brian to win this! ive wanted him to win since he stepped foot on the show. since i started watching idol all the people who i have wanted to win (rex goudie, bo bice, blake lewis, etc) have never won! but finally the person who i wanted to win so badly won!!!!! i almost cried when he won i was so happy. i liked jaydee but i thought him and brian were in a totally different league. i felt a bit bad for jaydee, but at the same time if people had of voted for jaydee becuz they felt bad then the wrong person would have been crowned!!! but thank god brian won!!!
and last night when he sang hallelulah there was just something about it.. it was almost errie like, it left me with goosebumps. by far my favorite song on any idol show that was ever sung!!! :) :) :)

Thank goodness, the absolute worst season in Canadian Idol history is over! If you thought Ryan Malcom and Melissa O’Neill were forgettable……well….I’m afraid to say that Mr. Melo will be forgotten by next Monday. I feel sorry for Jaydee Bixby who must have wondered what he ever did to Jake and the rest of the judges to bring out everything they had to push Canada against him. It was like Caesar being assassinated, as all the judges hugged and embraced each other after Brian won. Et tu, Farley? What a setup.

I wish I could say that I’m totally happy for him, but I think that the judges’ comments yesterday (and the last few weeks, to a lesser extent) really soured this for him. It feels like it wasn’t a fair race, even though I did like him better. Oh well, this definitely wasn’t my favourite season, anyway. :/

Congrats to Brian!! I wish him luck!!

And of course, congrats to JAYDEE, a total star!!
and now…. excuse me while i re-join the celebrations!
