Performance #10 – Matt Rapley
Matt sang Marvin Gaye’s “I Heard It Through The Grapevine.” I think he picked the wrong key. I think he could have sung it in a higher key and it would have sounded better. I don’t have anything bad to say about his actual singing, though. It was not the most exciting performance and it was kind of a mess. He seemed unfocused and rushed. Zack tells him that he should have sung something cool. Uhhh…. this song wasn’t cool but “You Win My Love” and “Power of Love” are really cool???? Okay….

I have to agree with you weirdgrrl – it was better in comparison. I like Matt and I hope he stays ’cause Canada needs a soul singer. :)
I have to disagree with you about the key. I love Matt’s lower register and I think it was the perfect key for him. And while his performance may not have been exciting compared with other competitors, he’s definitely stepped it up when compared with his own previous performances.
