I love seeing photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on the red carpet when they’re posing, but sometimes my favorite moments are the real ones, the candid moments where you get to see them truly enjoying themselves without always having to be aware of the cameras around them. For instance, the photo above when Brad and Angelina, ever drawn to kids, went over to speak to Tanay Hermant Chheda, one of the younger stars of Slumdog Millionaire who had been flown from Mumbai to attend the Oscars. It’s such a great slice of their life.
On that note, since Brad and Angelina are currently – thankfully, for them! – off the radar and hopefully getting a bit of rest in this post-award season, before Angelina starts filming Salt, here are some of my favorite candid Brad and Angelina moments at this year’s Oscar awards.

I wish I knew what was going on here, it’s hard to tell when this was during a 3+ hour award show, but whatever happened, Brad was clearly very happy about it! Possibly either one of his friends just won something or it was after The Curious Case of Benjamin Button won one of the technical awards.
For all the people who somehow keep saying that Brad and Angelina – Angie in particular – are never really happy when other people win something, I can only say, “huh?!” and offer up this photo where they are obviously cheering someone on:
And possibly my top fave, amid all the action and noise, Brad and Angelina score a private moment:

Angie started shooting Salt? I thought next month, oh well, the earlier the better so she can rest. Those pictures of the family outing to see The Little Mermaid (minus the twins) are beautiful. The kids are all dressed up, Shi picking her nose just a typical girl at her age. She seems enjoying the attention more than anybody else. The kids are all so cute.

^^^agreed. they were cute pics. i love that shi was picking her nose right from the entrance all the way to the car. a bit gross, but it’s too funny and cute. such a kid thing to do. it’s also great to see that she and zahara share the same clothes. they are practically the same height. when they went to the art store it was zee who wore the hooded sweater. in this last outing, it was shiloh. they’re very blessed to have each other.

Kati, Angie’s dad was there, too? I didn’t know that (but it makes sense, as a few PittWatchers commented recently that he often goes to Award shows).
Anyway, I forgot to mention earlier that I think JA’s being there was a big part of the reason why Angie and Brad declined to give interviews (if in fact it was delibirite and they weren’t, as some PittWatchers speculated, just rushing because they were a bit late).
I don’t think it actually bothered Brad and Angie that JA was there (the videos of Brad and Angie reacting to JA and vice-versa seem to indicate that, and I also just don’t think they’d be bothered by something like that). However, I’m guessing that they didn’t really want to be asked questions about her being there (for example, “How do you feel about Jen presenting tonight?”), and knew they probably would be if they stopped to give interviews.
I don’t blame them, either! The RC is not the place to be asking questions like that, and I’ll bet anything that Angie and Brad are both sick and tired of constantly getting asked about the “triangle”!
I also have to give HUGE props to PEOPLE magazine. I’m a subscriber and just got my copy of this week’s issue today. Naturally they had a section dedicated to the Oscars. However, all they said about Brad, Angie, and JA all being there is that JA and John Mayer sat about 12 seats behind Angie and Brad and that the two couples’ paths “never crossed” (in otherwords, they didn’t actually bump into each other).
They did not say anything about Angie and Brad’s reaction to JA presenting, and that makes me happy. They DID discuss that on their website, but the fact that they chose not to print that in their magazine speaks volumes to me.

luv the pics sherry. there are numereous photos i have seen of brad and angie and he is just looking at her with such love. there’s a spark in his eyes that shows luv, sex, pride and he can’t wait to get a hold of her. angie responds with a giant smile or enduring hand gestures around his face, neck. these two are so sweet and tender when they show love. this is my romeo and juliet of today.

Lyn, I agree! Some of the photos I’ve seen of them at award shows make me wonder if they go home and have their own “after-party” afterwards (since they usually skip the offical ones), if you know what I mean! :)

Am also from the Philippines….and just love Brad and Angie and their children. Looking at the pix where Brad lovingly looks at Angie melts my heart and watered my eyes!!! Thank you Sherry for sharing these beautiful pictures.

Jen and John Voight (I didn’t see him) were not there to ruin Brad and Angie’s night, they were there because they were invited. Quit being a JoilePit fanatic that thinks the whole word is out to get them, there are actually people who are completely indifferent to Brad and Angie.

Sheryl- I think you’re reading too much into Kati’s comment. She never said that JA or Jon Voight were trying to ruin Brad and Angie’s evening. All she said was that ANGIE and BRAD didn’t let their evening be ruined by those two being there.
I just take that to be Kati’s way of saying that she thinks Brad and Angie handled what could have easily been a very awkward situation very well.
I mean, I don’t for one second believe that JA is the Angie-h8ting, jealouse, out for revenge ex that the tabs and some of the general public make her out to be. However, no matter how you feel toward your ex and their partner, it’s still got to be awkward running into them (the one possible exception being if it’s one of those rare cases where the exes have managed to stay very close and basically just went from being husband and wife to being good friends. Some people just realize they were meant to be friends rather than husband and wife!)!
That said, I DO agree with you somewhat. I don’t think Angie and Brad were that bothered, if even bothered at all, that JA was at the Oscars. Considering their attitude toward the tabs (i.e., that they ignore them and most of the time aren’t bothered by what they say about them), Brad and Angie seem to me to be the type of people who aren’t going to let something like one of their exes being in the same room with them bother them.
As far as Jon Voight is concerned, from the interviews Angie’s done over the past year or so, it hardly sounds like they h8te each other.
