American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood, continued her domination of the country music scene by winning "Female Vocalist of the Year" at last night’s CMA Awards, where she performed her song "Just a Dream."
She was nominated against Alison Krauss, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride and Taylor Swift (quite an incredible group of ladies!). Watch Carrie’s acceptance speech here:
She also performed her song "Just a Dream" after being introduced by Leslie Ponder, the widow of Master Sergeant James "Tre" Ponder. It was very touching and Carrie’s performance was emotional and really just beautiful. I was in tears.

Carrie, I’m sorry I wasn’t there sweetheart. If I had been, I would have lead this prayer:
Leslie Ponder, your husband “Tre” will be dearly missed by all Americans.
Master Sergeant Ponder lost his life to keep Freedom alive for all Americans and people around the world. His was an Honorable and Noble mission. He paid the ultimate sacrifice. I am very sorry for your loss. I hope in time God will ease your pain, and may you and all his beloved family, come to know Peace.
Lord, please lift this man up. Raise his spirit up to share in the light of your eternal Grace. Lord, please bring Peace to his family and friends. Please help his beautiful children grow up and find their way. Lord, please be their Shepherd and help them know you in Spirit and give them strength.
Please give Leslie the strength to endure all hardships. Help her through this trying time in her life. Bring her everlasting Peace and support from family and the community.
Please keep our remaining soldiers safe. Help them to survive and be reunited with family when their duties are through. Bring them Peace and strength to overcome the many sacrifices they face. May their commitment and servitude not go unnoticed and may they know your love for humanity supports their efforts. I ask this in Jesus Christs name. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen
